Loosing weight

I'll preface this by saying that until last week I had ony gained 8lb, well lost a couple during first tri, then regained those and another 8; however since last week I've lost 3 lb!!

I haven't been eating much at night because I get nauseous and also reflux when I eat, but still, 3lb in a week seem like a lot, since LO should be plumping up.. I have a growth u/s tomorrow so I plan on asking the tech about it but I'm still kinda worried

Anyone else has lost weight this late into the game?

Re: Loosing weight

  • It's actually not that unusual to loose some weight towards the end when baby id dropping. I didnt lose anything with DD, but lost 4 pounds towards the end with DS. I would mention it, but wouldnt be worried.

  • I lost 7lbs. I have series of growth scans scheduled for the next couple of weeks. I think 3 isnt too bad. Most woman flux between 2-3 lbs a week so it could be nothing, just track your weight over the next few days, if you continue to lose, I would say something.

  • I haven't lost any, but I haven't gained any since 30 weeks.  Dr. said that was perfectly normal, and that I may start to lose weight towards the final weeks.  My sister lost 6 pounds in the final weeks of her pregnancy, and my niece was just fine at birth.  I believe it was my "Your pregnancy week to week" book that said, weight loss is an early symptom of labor, same as losing your mucus plug, and dropping (i.e. early symptom, but it may still be weeks).
Me: unexplained infertility - annovulatory DH: testicular cancer survivor!! TTC since June 2009 BFP May 11, 2012 EDD January 24, 2013 June 1, 2012 - first u/s, heartbeat 124 BPM!! June 22, 2012 - heard the heartbeat 9w1d 181 BPM!! 24 hours of labor, 4 1/2 hours of pushing, and IT'S A BOY! Welcome to the world my miracle, we prayed and prayed for you, and we can't believe you're here!
  • Lost 3 lb in the last 2 weeks. Midwife wasn't concerned, but I also had to change my diet due to gall bladder issues, so no fat no spicy foods. Could be the reason. I wouldn't be too worried either, but if you're concerned, you should call and ask.
  • I am currently sitting at 3 pounds less than when I got pregnant. I was overweight to begin with so they didn't want me to gain too much anyways but the whole time I've been up and down a pound or two or three every visit. They aren't concerned when I fluctuate because the baby has been measuring perfectly the whole time. Plus remember a bottle of water weighs a pound so something as simple as that can cause you to fluctuate too.
