We will just have to agree to disagree here. To me this is one of the battles I will pick. My kid will not wear red sweatpants to church :P My cousin and I have had this conversation MANY times when looking through old pics. She always asks her mom why in the world was she allowed to wear THAT outfit. Her mom replies with "it's what you wanted to wear." She responds by saying "just because I wanted to wear it doesn't mean you should have let me LOL."
Honestly, no one else gives a f?u?k if your kid matches, so this is some seriously misplaced energy.
If you're walking around in public side-eyeing moms whose kids don't match, that kid of makes you a dillhole.
ETA: Seems like a good way to teach kids that what you look like is more important than expressing yourself?
I didn't say I was side-eyeing kids who don't match. I simply said that my kid will. Obviously most people who see a kid dressed in a wacky outfit (including myself here) assume the child chose the outfit. I also said at home and play she will be allowed to choose what she wants. I don't think offering two options is micro-managing and I don't think there is anything wrong with teaching a child how to match.
There are PLENTY of ways a child can learn to expresses herself. Wearing red sweatpants to church will not be one of those ways for N.
Re: Judgment Day/UO Thursday
Don't worry Super, there are a few of us out here who love Christmas music!
