Natural Birth

Book recs for round 2?

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for books to read for your second pregnancy? Something more to just get my head in the game again without all the information, if that makes sense. I had a natural hospital birth with my daughter and did tons of research back then, so I feel like I already have a good understanding on the reasons I'm trying to go natural and all that, and I don't really want to read a bunch of statistics. I'd just like to brush up on techniques (since who knows if this time will be anything like the last!) and read something inspirational and motivating to get me ready again... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

  • I'm reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth for the 3rd time right now. I love the sections on laboring, positioning, and the birth stories. There are also lots of lines in the book that have become "go-to" mantras for me while preparing for a NB with this baby.

  • I had a natural birth in a hospital with DD and am planning a homebirth with this LO. I will def be re-reading Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth, and I just started reading Orgasmic Birth, in hopes maybe that will happen for me this time around, one can dream right :-)

  • Thanks ladies, I'll check out Ina May's book this time around. I didn't read it last time, so hopefully it will give me some new motivation!
