I went to ask this on the Eco-family board but it was really dead so I thought this was probably the next best place.
We just adopted our son two weeks ago and his hair is short but as it grows it has some wave and I think it is going to be a little curly. If I just let it dry it looks messy but if I comb it, it looks frizzy. I think I need some kind of hair product! He has sensitive skin and I would like something naturally based if possible.
Any suggestions?

I'm no expert, but I am very simplistic about soaps and other products on baby skin. His baths are in plain water unless he's dirty, and then we use just enough soap to clean him up. He gets a soapy bath just once a week.
You could try a dab of baby lotion in his hair. Sounds awful, but sometimes in the winter my hair gets really dry, it, too, is curly, and I'll run a bit of lotion through it.
Olive oil is a great suggestion, but I would be afraid that it would be too much for sensitive baby skin. Maybe ask your pedi?
First of all congratulations on your new baby :-) What a beautiful blessing it is to adopt.
To answer your ? DD has VERY curly hair. Perfect, cute, tight curls. I never brush them (though she sometimes does with "her" hairbrush). I typically carry a small spray bottle with water in it to spritz after a longer ride in the car seat or when she wears a hat.
I don't use green hair products on her or myself. I never have and she's never had a problem. BUT she doesn't have sensitive skin or any allergies. I just use my regular mouse on her hair.
This is my application process (for when you find a product you like)-I take a little bit and put it on the tips of my fingers and on her damp hair and poof out the curls with the mouse. After much trial and error this is what seems to work best. Also, if you experience a lot of static (we do) you can carry a dryer sheet (we have bounce free and clear or something like that) and lightly tousle his hair with it. This works on my hair and on hers.
ETA: I use lotion on my hair sometimes but DD's hair is still too short for it and if I use it now it looks greasy.

California Baby has a leave in conditioner. And it can be found at Target. I've been following your blog and noticed you shop there. And congrats on your LO, he's beautiful. I'm so happy for your family.
I also told a co-worker about your blog because she is starting the international adoption process.
This is what we do for DD also, she has tight ringlets.
Mac and cheese lover!
My daughter is mixed - her hair is curly and tends to frizzy. I comb it at least once a day, preferably twice, otherwise it gets snarls. After combing, I massage in some Curly Qs Moist Curl detangler (its a spray, but doesn't mist well, so I spray it on my hands and massage it in) and then some Jojoba oil. This keeps the hair moist and the curls formed.
I also wash her hair 1 or 2 times a week with Weleda Calendula Shampoo. And then use the Curly Qs and Jojoba oil.
