I have to vent about my dog and the horrible, terrible evening he gave me yesterday. I now can confidently say, that I probably won't throw up this pregnancy and I have an incredibly gag inducing experience to justify my theory:
So DH is out of town, and we were on our evening call with him last night when "the dog" walked into the kitchen and stood by the door. He stands there and just stares, which drives us crazy so we taught him to ring a bell. He has decided to not use it the last 2 days, so I was ignoring him and waiting for him to ring the bell like he's supposed to....
and then I heard a wet noise... no!!! I run to where he was and he has thrown up "poop" ALL OVER my kitchen floor and into my heat register. Sigh. It was easily the most disgusting thing I've ever had to clean up, and ds had some nasty diapers. (He had gone outside earlier and I assume had eaten frozen poop. No, it's not a bowel obstruction or I would definitely take him to the vet).
It took me forever to get it clean, and I can only hope I got it all out of the register since I can't see in there. I did pour "Nature's Miracle" into the duct just in case though... I'm sure that was a bad idea but I honestly didn't know what else to do. I'm pretty sure DH wouldn't have been much help if he were home though because he's a big gagger just like ds, who was going to town.
I put ds to bed and then went to have a bath to get the grossness off me, walk out of the bath and he's done it again in his bed. Have you ever been so mad you are actually calm? I was yesterday, and it was unsettling. Then I couldn't sleep all night because I kept worrying he was going to do it again.
And to think I had been telling DH that I've been pretty even tempered this pregnancy... well this ruined it, and I've been pretty irritable every since. Thanks dog!

Re: Bad day due to gross/disgusting dog...
I can totally empathize. Our puppy had explosive diarrhea for three days in a row a couple weeks ago. Scrubbing poop off of *everything* - walls, floors, trash cans, boxes, and daily hose downs of her crate.
I think you're totally allowed to get emotional about this one. Even non-pregnant people would totally flip out. It took us a couple days to like the dog again - I'm sure it'll just take a little bit for you to regain your equilibrium!
DS born 6/2013
I had my childhood dog do this to me when I was a teenager. I have a terribly weak stomach but I was the one that had to clean it up. My mom was out of town and my dads stomach is even worse than mine.
It was terrible. I really feel for you having to do that while pregnant.
Thanks guys! I'm starting to get over it. I think I'm more annoyed now that it looks like my pregnant butt is going to have to go out in the snow every day and pick poop up so he doesn't do it again :P
It's going to be a long winter...
Oh No!! I do feel your pain though. My wonderful dog decided last night would be a great night to roll around in something ungodly and then proceed to sprint/roll/spread this funk throughout my house while I yelled like an idiot and chased her around.
I should mention that she is TERRIFIED of the bathroom so DH had to strip and shower with her to give her a bath while I crunched beside the tub holding her in. Then we proceeded to sniff around to clean all the house. ugh
The things we do for our dogs...
At least you and DH had some quality time together? Your poor husband, I'm sure taking a bath with the dog was at the bottom of his Christmas list. Funny for you though!
It was our one night together this week (We work opposite schedules right now). We did have a good laugh last night about it though and he's a really good sport lol I should mention she is 65lbs! As much as I could kill my dogs sometimes they really are worth it. I hope your pup is feeling better!!
