So, my BF got this amazing deal on Black Friday for Direct TV (he has wanted it for a while). They came last Thursday to install it. They said they would be here sometime between 8 and 12... they arrived at 1:30 and stayed until 4:30. The install people told me they did not bring a tall enough ladder to properly adjust the satellite signal so they would have to come back the next day. I said the best time for them to come back would be 3 and they said that was fine.
So, they are a no show on Friday. I call direct TV and ask where they are and the people sad they are on their way. NO ONE EVER CAME. So, I called back and told them I wanted to be the first appointment of Saturday. They said the only thing they could do is email their install people and hope the get the message.
Saturday they are a no show as well. My BF called and they told us they would be here monday morning. Once again they do not show up. I tried calling all day on Monday, but I kept getting the we are very busy please call back. My BF got a hold of them this morning and they said they will be there tomorrow morning (not holding my breath)
I am calling in the morning to give these people a piece of my mind. I may be a SAHM, but I have things to do. I have missed 3 workouts because of them and countless errands that I needed to run. I think there might be a credit with my name on it!
Thanks for listening to my rant. No real point, I am just angry.
Re: I freaking HATE Direct TV
My parents have had Direct TV forever and have never had any problems... So, I have no idea why they do not like me
Haha, that is why my BF wanted it too. He is from Rochester, NY and is a big Bills fan. Needless to say we don't get many Bills games on the TV in NC.
Nice, we got their new system that you can watch what you record in any room. Maybe we can just get DVRs in all the rooms
We have AT&T U-Verse and LOVE IT!!! We like to record a billion things so that comes in handy, plus I love their ondemand packages. It works for us, we've been with them for 4 years and never had an issue.
Plus we can bundle everything, even our cell phones.

Good lord, how tall is your house that they didn't bring a tall enough ladder?
Definitely demand free things or a credit to your account. People are stupid.
It is a normal size 2 story house. You would think the 40 ft ladder would be a standard to carry when your job is to install and fix for Direct TV. They were upset because we didn't want them to put it on the front of the house... Oh and I have another little gem for everyone. One of the install people was afraid of heights!
I switched to DirecTV back in August. Couldn't he happier. Haven't had a single issue, got a great deal , and their billing is pretty straightforward and simple (unlike comcast).
They are awesome.
F Comcast for sure, such a bag of dildos.
And you are 100% right about contractor installations. Fortunately, we had an actual DirecTV installer come out and do it. He reran new coax for us in the rooms we wanted the receivers, etc. He was awesome.
In case anyone else doesn't want to get satellite or can't (like living in an apartment or in our case, too many trees on surrounding properties) Sunday Ticket is available to purchase if you have a Playstation. DH has one and he buys just the Ticket each season because we live in New England and he's a KC Chiefs fan
I think our install people were contract guys. You still think Direct TV would have some way to remedy the problem.
