Day 8 of stims and getting worried...

My nurse just called with the results from my third monitoring appointment and I'm starting to freak out about my progress.  My E2 is at 839, which is up quite a bit from Sunday, but I still only have 7 measurable follies (out of 17) at 16, 12, 11(2), and 10(3) which while these 7 are growing, the total is unchanged.

I know that the next few days can make a big difference and I'm trying to keep that in mind instead of the alternative.  Ugh!

Re: Day 8 of stims and getting worried...

  • I know exactly how you feel because I was there just a few short days ago.  I think I had 8 mature eggs after 8 days.  In the next two days tons more caught up and i was ready to trigger on day 10.  It's true they grow faster once you get closer to trigger, good luck!!

    PAIF/SAIF welcome!
  • I feel your frustration!  Are you being monitored every day now?  My e2 jumped over 500 points in 24 hours.

Also, I have seen the other two REs in the practice over the last three days and they don't give out as much information as my RE does.  They both toss out a couple of numbers and the rest I have to look up through the clinic's patient portal.  I have been thinking that we would maybe get 8 eggs or so.  I asked the on-call RE today how many we might be looking at.  He said "Oh, 15..."  I said "Really?!"  I think he thought I was disappointed because he went on to say that there might be more, but he thought around that number.  I told him I thought we might get eight.  He laughed and said "We will get eight out of one ovary alone."

For a couple of days now, the ladies on this board have told me slow and steady wins the race.  I am passing that mantra on to you!

Thanks ladies, I needed that kick in the rear to snap me out of my pity party.

I'm being monitored every other day - my E2 did jump 500 points from Sunday to today and my RE prefers the slow and steady protocol - that mantra is perfect. I think I'm having jealousy pangs from all the great outcomes we've had this week!

  • From day 8 to day 9, my E2 went from 3400 to 5200 and my follicles grew a ton.  Obviously too much, sadly.  Don't get discouraged yet!  You have plenty of time.  Some people stim for 10 or 11 days. Good luck!!

12/1: met with RE to discuss trying for #2

  • Hopefully these last few days make a difference for you. I'm on day 11 (of which should have only been 10 days of stims). I had to go an extra day because on my day 10 ultrasound I only had 3 mature follicles. The rest pretty small. Went back in this morning with little growth and my E2 is only 850. My RE reluctantly decided to move forward with ER on Thursday. This happened to me last cycle also, and they canceled ER.

The moral of my story is that you look in MUCH better shape than me, and I'm still moving along. Fingers crossed for you!
