I think kiki and anbeck talked about this a little bit I hate when people shorten words. Omg is almost the only one I can think of that I use. "Lil" instead of little. That stuff makes me just a little more mad than it should. Just write out the whole word. It would take me longer to type of I did that to think of how it's shortened than to just type it out.
Adorbs and cray (or craycray) make me feel a little violent inside. How old are you?? "zomg" annoys me also - what exactly is that Z representing?
I have wondered about the Z. I initially thought it was a mistake, but then I continued seeing it again and again. I decided it meant something and I'm not cool enough to know.
I'll be back with my UO. Have to get to work again
It was originally a gamer thing. Like, sort of an ironic way to say OMG. The "z" doesn't stand for a word. Then, as was the fate of pwned and w00t, some non-gamers found out about it, misused it, and killed it dead. Now the people you see using it are those who really think they're being geeky and internet-cool, but are unaware that it has completely fallen out of use in the one context in which it was originally sort of funny. The lesson here is that people shouldn't use slang they don't fully understand, on the internet or IRL. NOW WHERE MY HOARD MEMBERS AT?!? WHO WANTS TO PLAY FOOTMEN FRENZY WITH ME?
....I guess this means that my UO is that I sort of miss playing WOW sometimes. That sh!t eats lives, though. Womp-womp.
Ahhhh...mystery solved! I guess I missed that during my gaming or I'm not gamer enough...Skyrim, Halo, Fable...anyone?!?

I should clarify: my knowledge only applies to computer based MMORPGs. I can't handle console-based games for the life of me. You should see me try to play Call of Duty. Good lord. Nobody blows themselves up like I do.

I bump from my iPad most of the time, and it's a nightmare to try to edit my posts on. I often have typos in my posts that make me groan out loud, but it's so hard to edit them I just have to look away and move on!

This exactly! I know I make errors but it's too much of a pain to change! I just rather look stupid, apparently.

I think 90% of the names on the Baby Names Board are really ugly. I always click on the posts expecting people to say "ew, no" or "not my style", but lo and behold, they always seem to like them.

I guess my style is just different.

Then she complains about people on welfare... all while she can't figure out how to type "tomorrow" and she's a cashier at a grocery store; I always want to give her a link to the food stamp income limits because if she doesn't qualify, then that's one well paying grocery store. Also, when fxcking idiots shorten "probably" to "pry." THAT IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WORD AND YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY STUPID. Talk about things making you more angry than they should, but that's one that actually makes me look down upon someone. You don't get to "shorten" words by substituting completely different words. If I want to say "I'm going to the library" I don't get to say "I'm going to the taco" simply because there are fewer letters to type. Probably and pry are completely different words. If you do this, I hate you. I simply hate you.

This post made me laugh out loud and snort a little. Thank you.

Console and computer gamer here. My computer is a few years old now so it can't handle the new games so I'm stuck with console for now. Just got Skyrim...I'm late to that. I play Fable, or I should say have played. Those are my type of games. Wanted to get into WoW but Guild Wars was free to play so I went that route instead.

Figures. I rarely shorten anything but I definitely say "def" and "totes" to drive my DH crazy.

The thing I hate more than people who shorten words when written are the ones that say the acronyms. My mom has started to exclaim "Oh. Em. GEEEE" and it makes me want to punch her in the throat.

I can't stand people who don't like something/someone simply because it's mainstream or cool. For instance, someone stops liking a band or musician because they're suddenly on the radio. Get over yourself.

I don't get the whole hipster thing.

I hate people who constantly have to bring up something horrible that happened to them and always want either the attention or to be on a high horse about it. It's like one step up from a Debbie Downer and I think it's so annoying.

Spruce, that's crazy!! For any particular reason or you just don't feel the need for it? That's funny to me only because I'm 29 and I've had a cell phone since I was 18! Before that I was super fly with my pager! Don't hate!!

My UO is about people who ask stupid questions. For instance at my old job in college at the union info desk... What number is classroom 23? More lately, I teach a college chemistry lab and I hate the ditzy little students who try asking me the answer to a problem without thinking about it just because they are too lazy to come up with the answer themselves.

I admin for 15 grown adults who ask me dumber questions every single day. Sometimes I think they can't possibly get to work without getting hit by a car, but they keep managaing to somehow.
