so my lil girl HATES getting her diaper changed and getting dressed now. she starts emper tantrums and i was wondering if pullups would be easier? they are more exp. tho. right now shes in a sz 4 diaper and i looked at 2t pullups and they are actually smaller? just curious what you all think. thanx!

Re: diapers vs pullups?

  • huggies makes some diapers that go on like undies. My cousin used them a few times.

  • I love when people say their baby has massive tantrums. HA. Just wait till your kid is 3 and a total beast.

Pull ups are a lot more expensive. Because they are for kids who should be potty training and not needing as many.

    OP, try Huggies SlipOns.

  • Definitely know where you're coming from.  I dread diaper/clothes changes with a passion!!  The only thing that gets us through them is a box of different toys, gadgets, sippy cups, or bottles to distract him, or else peekaboo, but sometimes even those don't work and we just have to wrestle him down!

  • they are not as aborbent, and getting a poopy pull up is worse than a diaper, they are just made differently. On top of the huge expense. like PP said try the pull up huggies. also for my DS2 we get him dress and changed standing up most of the time because of his inability to be still, does that work for you at all?

  • yes ive been trying to put diapers on as she stands bbut its really hard when she lies down and to not get poop all over lol/ and thank you guys, i will stick to diapers and save some money!

  • Yeah, the pull ons really shouldn't be an option unitl your baby is actually potty training, and not going through as many diapers. Don't really have any advice on how to keep your kid enteretained, except that I sing to DD2 when changing her diaper, and that seems to soothe her, despite my horrible singing voice.

  • I don't know why y'all are eye rolling the 3 year old comment.  I mean, it's true that what you have at 9-12 months is nothing compared to what you'll have in another year or so when they can actually get up and run away, even with a pooper.  Anyhow, my DD was super easy going about getting changes but my DS is horrid.  Pull-ups suck though 'till the poops get good and turdy cuzz a pull up full of poop is really just awful.  Also, you have to fully undress their bottom half to get a new pull up back on and I think that sucks.  I just strong arm DS and MAKE the diaper change happen.

  • What you want is Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diapers-- not Pull-ups. You can slip them on through legholes but they have breakaway sides so they're easy to get off. They're essentially a Little Movers diaper that comes closed with the fastener on the sides. Right now, there's 2 coupons you can use at Target (a Target and a manufacturers coupon) making them just under $5 for a jumbo pack, which isn't bad at all. My son likes to stand sometimes so they work well for us then

LOL!  DS still wiggles sometimes at almost 3 yrs old.. but I find the 11 month old so much harder to dress and daiper change. At least at 3 you can say "if you don't put on your pull ups then we can't go to the park" or something like that.

Huggies does have slip on diapers... even those i think are more expensive then the regular ones.  have you tried distracting.. with a book, rattle (ANYTHING).  I know how you feel she fights me every time especially after bath.  Distraction does not even always help but i just keep trying.. LOL
