Moms of 2+ (with older kid that gets Santa)

What are you getting for the baby??

For Brynn's first Christmas, she was 4.5 months and we got her about 2 toys.  I want to do the same for Paige. We have so many toys and she won't remember anyway.  I'm worried that Brynn might question why she gets so few presents but thinking she will be so into her own presents that she won't notice.  She is already 'questioning' Santa and I don't want to add anything to that.

  • Mimi doesn't usually get a lot from us anyway so I will get the same amount for him. She gets 1 big present from Santa, 3 presents from us and some stocking stuffers. LJ will get the same thing, even if it is just some clothes or shoes that are needed.

  • We always do one big present from Santa and the rest are from us.  We let Logan pick what he wanted Kellen to ask Santa for and included it in his letter.  I was always confused as a kid why I couldn't ask Santa for 20 things since he MADE them, so we decided to cut the confusion by saying you are only allowed to ask Santa for one thing you really really want, then the rest Mommy and Daddy have to pay for.

  • Santa will get th baby one big item and then put some things in her stocking. Jay has already asked me if babies get Santa presents. For him Santa will get one big present and a couple smaller things that go with it.
We've told him babies don't need or get as much because they can't play with a lot of things.

  • The same amount as the others.  I keep buying until there is enough  stuff to make a big impression when they see all the stuff under the tree.  The baby-little kids age is the easiest age to buy for. Everything is cheaper and bigger. The older they get the small the stuff is and the more it cost.

I spent about $70 bucks on my LO the other day and I got a lot of stuff.

Leapfrog Potsy, a leap frog book, a set of three little people. A little people bus and firetruck, stacking barrels ( like the cups) and a few other things. I'm pretty much done with her I just need to decide on a baby doll for her.
