WTH flaky nips

So I know your nipples get dry and cracked after the baby is born and breastfeeding etc, BUT my nipples are all flaky dry and it's really ridiculous! I put lotion on them and everything yet they're flaking like a snowstorm lol

    I've noticed that the tips of my nips are kinda flaky as well. In my case, I'm pretty sure it's dried colostrum. When I picked some off, my nips leaked a little. Kinda looks like puss....  Kinda gross, but a guess it's a good sign!

    Mine did that starting around week 28. Get some lanolin and slap some on.

    Mine are doing this too  - I have also been thinking it's just really slow leaking colostrum. Been meaning to ask if it's happening to anyone else, it didn't happen with my first PG. Glad to see I'm not the only one!

    Yep this is great advice. Lanolin will be your best friend if you plan on breastfeeding, so you might as well start applying it now.

    This, I've been apply some every other day or so...they feel so much better!

    I've had the "gunk" on mine since my first tri, but it's only gotten slightly more noticeable as I progress. It's seriously gross. And if I wear a black bra or tshirt with no bra, I get black lint stuck to the gunky spots, and it dries. So, I have to spend a few minutes picking it off... And if course, they get hard when I touch them, so it's even more of an ordeal... Ok, enough TMI about my nips :P I feel your pain to some degree! Maybe try belly butter instead of lotion? GL :]

    I just noticed this SAME thing last night, I pointed it out to DH and his response? to LICK MY NIPPLES... yeah, he's that guy....
