tacos....

So...I want a taco. Now. Lol...dh just asked me to ask the forum girls: "at what point do I have to run and fulfill your cravings? When is it just... you want something vs you will break down if you don't have something? "

So btdt ladies, when are the cravings
Legit cravings? :

Re: tacos....

  •  I say you don't want to over do it and demand so many things early on... You will burn your DH out! Hold out for when it's gets harder to physically go and get things yourself... Unless of course you are nauseous now... And can't.

  • The only time I ever had MH go and get stuff for me is when I was like 35/36/37 weeks pregnant and even then it wasn't a mid-night run. If he was out and about I would ask all through pregnancy though. Besides those last couple weeks, If I wanted something I always went and got it.

  • I only made DH run out and get me one thing in 3 pregnancies. I was really sick to my stomach during dinner time with my first. I hadn't eaten all day because of meetings and felt terrible. The only thing that sounded good was fried rice from a Chinese place clear across town. DH drove the whole way in snow and I've only to return, have me open the container to SHRIMP fried rice which started me gagging, got back in the car to return it for plain fried rice. By the time he got back home I had made peanut butter toast and fell asleep on the couch. Poor guy!

He knows I constantly crave McDonald's sweet tea during pregnancy though (I swear, the only cure for heart burn) so he'll pick them up for me. It's thoughtful but not a must.

  • DH is doing most of the grocery shopping right now because I am so nauseous and have many food/smell aversions.

When my morning sickness first reared its ugly head 2 weeks ago, I was unprepared. I had my DH run to the grocery store in the morning and get me some survival food (bagels and cream cheese).

As far as cravings, I had him pick up Subway for dinner on his way home from work one night. I may ask him to do that again tonight :)

  • wow girls, you're tough! I've been sending my boyfriend to the supermarket once every 3-4 days since I found out I'm pregnant hahahaha but he's not complaining, I guess next pregnancy I'll be less spoiled, but now I'm just enjoying!

"I get to feel like crap, you get to buy me stuff and be nice to me"... he says "That sounds fair to me".... and honestly, I would prefer to be the one going up and around instead of dying with nausea and heartburn, so I don't feel guilty about sending him to get me food ^^

  • Well, I didn't ask him to go get a taco. : but, he has been very sweet about making breakfast and dinner! I haven't really forced him to do this, he has just offered. It's been an incredible help to me as I've been so tired, especially in the mornings. Although I feel lazy, he has been so reassuring. He's told me that he doesn't have to do any of this stuff, but he wants to. Sooo sweet!
