Stride Rite shoes?

On to happier things right? Like shoes!

I used the sizing chart on the Stride Rite website and measured T's foot. When we bought him his first pair in July he was in a baby 5.5W. The chart last week measured him in a Toddler 8.5W. I got the shoes today and they are HUGE. I was thinking they'd be but...does that sound right? Guess I'll see how they fit when Talon wakes up here but it just seems like he'll be tripping over his toes?

8.5 seems way too big. My friend's daughter will be 3 in January, and is wearing a 9/10. If you can, I'd take him somewhere and have him sized--the SR store, or Nordstrom has a great kids' shoe department with a well-trained staff (not sure if you have one near you, though).

We just had DD1 resized about a week or two ago in store and she was between a 5.5 and 6 (at stride rite) We went w/ the 6 and the associate said she should be able to wear those until around March. 8.5 does sound pretty big for this age. I would take the shoes and go in for a fitting, they are great in store. We get all of DD1's shoes from there.

I agree, that seems huge. I think taking him to a store to be measured is great or if that's not an option, have him stand on a notebook and mark his heel and his big toe, then measure that. I just did this with DD for some See Kai Run shoes, since they run a little big.

Those sound huge. DD is 4.5 and just moved up to a toddler size 8. DS is just now moving into a 4.

I'm wondering if you had your printer settings set wrong and it shrunk the chart when it printed? Because I agree that sounds way too big.

DS has been in a baby 5.5W since June, so it sounds like his feet are similar size. He's now in a baby 6W. I can't imagine that sizing being right!

My son was actually born in August 11 my edd was July but he is in size 8. So I'm sure it's possible yours could be an 8.5.

I'm not sure how much I'd trust the online thing. One of the best things IMO about stride rite is they try a few pairs and watch them walk in them.

This was it. I went to Nordstrom Rack and they measured him at 6.5/7 W.
