Last time I told him to close his eyes and put an apple seed in his hand and when he opened them I told him that was how big our baby was. I was able to get it all recorded and it was awesome.

    I LOVE this.  So cute.

It was a really sweet moment and it was neat for DH to have a visual since that early the baby is pretty abstract for him.

  • I have a hormone sensitivity, so I was advised to give up red meat. I haven't had a real burger in almost four years. DH and I joke that when I do get KU, we're going to drive to In 'N Out (8 hours to the nearest one) and finally get me a burger. My best friend is going to get me an In 'N Out gift certificate and that's what I'm going to give to him.

  • I put a "big sister" shirt on our puppy. Then I had a CP so I was bummed that I already used my cute idea. We start trying again in January, and his bday is in march so I think if it happens before his bday ill do an early bday gift. Hopefully it's a super early bday gift ;

  • Originally I thought I'd tell him by buying him a carrier (he really wants one) but lately I wonder if it wouldn't be better to go with a pee stick & a grin and just leave it at that.

I only realized I had had a change of heart recently when I noticed I had completely stopped fantasizing about the moment.

I have a onesie with his favorite team on it that I'll give him.

    This is a great idea.

If I can hold myself together enough to not test when he's there, my plan is to put together a romantic proposal-type setup:  candles, maybe even rose petals, maybe a congrats cake... and in the middle of it all, the positive pee stick.

We're not planning to tell any family until we get a heartbeat, so my idea is to mail each family member a copy of the first ultrasound, and make a cute frame ("Future Grandma", etc) to go with it.

I'm picturing a pee stick embedded in a dessert for him to find. Yessssss

  • I bought a "big sister" tee last month after I had a couple barely there/is it a line wondfos. The shirt has stayed in the trunk of my car. So when I get a BFP, I'll pull that out, stick it on DD and wait until he notices.

This time I think I am going to put up a "welcome home dad" banner with some pink and blue balloons and streamers. When I hear him come in I will be able to record this one as well.

I love the banner/balloon idea! May have to try that myself. I also bought a cute board book called "My Dad and I" and a Dad card.

  • I bought a 'Best Big Bro' shirt for DS.  If I get a BFP on the weekend it would work out for me to put him in it and send him out to see daddy.  Weekday mornings my husband gets him up and leaves for work normally while DS is eating breakfast still in his jammies. I guess I could hold out and put DS in it in the evening and let my husband figure it out. Not sure I would be able to hold out all day without telling him, though.

  • I bought a baby set with his favorite college football team on it: bib, bottle and pacifier. I hope to either wrap it up and give it to him or -- and this depends on timing -- let him know dinner's ready and have the bottle sitting at his place at the table.

  • My DH asked me not to do anything cute or fancy...He just wants to know..But if things go well this month, I think I will spring it on him Christmas Eve...IF I can hold out that long...

We plan on telling the in-laws and our best friends right away...I am still thinking of a cute way to surprise them though

I used to have grand plans of doing it in some sort of amazing way. Now, after this long, it will likely be something like: "Check this shiz out." Whilst showing the pee stick.

LOL. I'm right there with you on that!

  • The first time I bought a newborn layette with his favorite NFL team in advance.  When I got the positive test, I sealed it in a ziploc and wrapped it along with the layette.  I woke DH up and had him open his present.

This time around I will probably just show him the pee stick.

  • Considering I'll have to give blood to get the results, I assume I'll just tell him "Holy crap, that *** worked!"
  • I have been pinteresting to find ideas... I have several cute ideas for telling my husband and family for different seasons even... lol... Don't really have much else to do... lol
