Re: Brag Day Wednesday!
On Monday dh and I drove ds2 to an appointment at Denver Children's. It took us 5.5 hrs to get there, 1 hr lunch with friends, 1.5hrs at the hospital, then 5.5 hrs driving to get back home! Ds2 did wonderful - of course the DVD player had a lot to do with it.
My main brag, however, was that he stayed dry the almost the whole day!!! He only wet his pull-up once.
We got DD1's progress report on her IEP goals, and she has mastered or is close to mastering all of them! I spoke to two of the team members yesterday and we're going to re-open her IEP, come up with new goals and tweak the ones she's partially accomplished. I thought these were really solid goals that she'd be working on most of the year, and I'm so impressed that she's made such wonderful progress only halfway through the school year!
I took DD1 out for Black Friday shopping on Friday morning, and we had SO much fun together. It was a real pleasure. She listened, stayed close, and was much less distracted than usual. We went to the mall, visited a few stores, and I let her pick out a couple of ornaments at the Disney store. She saw some pajamas with pirates on them and mentioned that DD2 likes pirates -- so I let her get them as part of DD2's Christmas gift from DD1.
And -- this totally melted me -- I let her pick out a small plush Buzz Lightyear (her current fave character) and suggested that she pick out one for DD2 as well; they both really like Toy Story right now. Well, she went over to the larger toys and picked out an even bigger Buzz for DD2. That wasn't quite what I'd had planned, but no way was I going to discourage her from picking out a bigger toy for someone else than she had for herself! God, I adore this child! (And DD2 loved her surprise.

That is heartwarming!
Lauren got a tooth! I wasn't expecting it yet since kids with Ds tend to get teeth later than NT kids.
Also, she's been able sit up independently (not get into a sitting position, we have to put her there) for as long as 5-10 minutes! It's so cool to watch her learn new things!
I wish I could "Like" all of your brags. They're all so awesome!
Lily has met 4 out of her 6 physical therapy goals that were set in late August. And, she moved up 10 points on the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). She's only 5 points from moving up into the next classification. All she has to do now is sit independently for 1 minute.
