Cloth Diapering

cloth wipes and daycare

I am thinking about asking my DC to use cloth wipes for LO. She seems to have a skin reaction to something. I am pretty sure it is the wipes since the rash goes away over the weekend and comes back in the week. When they see the rash they use diaper cream, which I provided before switching to cloth. The diaper cream does help with the rash, but I don't want the diaper cream used and I also don't want LO to have a rash.

If you have asked you DC to use your cloth wipes how do you supply them, and how many?

Re: cloth wipes and daycare

  • I use an empty wipes container and fill it with dry wipes.  They wet them in the sink next to their changing area and just put them in the wetbag with my diapers.

I usually provide enough for 2-3 days and refill as needed (a full box).

My daycare had no problem with this.  They've had babies that react badly to disposable wipes before and they used the towels that you wet (like in the hospital).

Mine are actually just squares extra flanel that my Mom edged for me.

  • I put one wipe into each diaper... We use pockets... but it works really well... In this class they wet the wipe... Im sending a plastic spray bottle for her next class because the sink is not that close to the changing station... which is dumb but should be getting remodled soon...
  • I prewet the wipes (about 1.5 for every diaper I send, so there's enough for poopy dipes), fold them and put them into a flat container with a lid.
