upper abdominal discomfort

all day I have had upper abdominal discomfort directly below where my ribs come together. I don't remember this at all with my first pregnancy. It is not pain, but really uncomfortable, especially if I bend over. Its almost like a giant bubble, not really sure how else to explain it. Has anyone else experienced this or should I be concerned? I am 10w1d and this is my third pregnancy (2nd ended in a blighted ovum and I had my D&C at 10w4d).

  • indigestion.  I have it too.  Pharmacists said only Tums.  But eating slower and staying upright for a while after eating helps.  Also, try to sleep somewhat elevated if you can.

  • but it feels better laying down and worse while sitting up/standing.
  • Could be your gallbladder. That's right about where it started hurting when I had my first gallbladder attack. If it persists, definitely get it checked out.

  • Well the discomfort turned to sharp pain in my lower left area last night after I went to bed and I called the doctor. (actually my DH called because I was in so much pain). She told me since I had already had a good ultra sound it wasn't an etopic (sp) pregnancy and if heat helped, like a hot shower, it was probably just a muscle spasm.  I did that and it helped. Of course, she said if it comes back or gets worse to go to the ER. Hopefully I won't have to do that!
  • I called again this morning to talk to MY dr (of course I get her nurse). She said its because of my tilted uterus and its nothing to go to ER for now, but if it continues and the pain ever lasts more than an hour to go in. She told me to monitor it and they are always available to call.
