Car Seat Troubles

My LO screams everytime we put him in the car seat and unless we are moving the seat almost violently he won't be quiet. We put him in about 20 min after feeding, with a clean diaper, check the straps to make sure they aren't too tight, undress him in case he's too hot, and still he screams.

When we are driving he's only quiet when I'm on the freeway and its kind of bumpy, otherwise he's screaming at every red light.

i cant even go shopping unless i wear him. What gives? Does anyone else's baby do this? And how do I make it better? Help!

    Unfortunately, he may just hate the car seat. Some babies hate it, some love it. I wish I had more advice, I'm sorry! I can say a lot of friend's whose babies hated their car seat did grow out of it. FX that your little man learns to love it!

    Hopefully he'll outgrow it soon. DS1 went through alternating phases of loving and then hating the carseat a few times in the first several months. DS2 absolutely hated it at first, but he seems to be a little better the last few times. Also, both my boys would start screaming when we'd stop at a red light in the beginning. DS1 outgrew that after two or three months, and I'm hoping DS2 does the same.

    I really hope he outgrows it soon. I live in Los Angeles so I literally have to drive everywhere and it's so nerve wracking with a screaming baby. I found that a rattle and binky with keep him calm between screams, but there is only so much I can do one handed while driving. Ay!

    Have you tried turning radio static way up? It worked for my friend's kid. Find a radio station that doesn't come in and crank it. White noise FTW.

    Unfortunately it doesn't work. Maybe ill crank it up louder next time. He still screams in the car seat in the stroller though :

    My DS2 is the same way. He hates the car seat. Should make for an interesting 3hour trip to see my family next weekend. DS1 wasn't like this, so it's all new to me.

    What worked for us was going to a convertible car seat, they are much softer feeling and LO actually enjoys the car now.

    I was going to suggest this as well.  If your stroller can recline flat (or nearly flat) so that you can just put him in the regular part of the stroller when you're out (or you can wear him), then moving up to the convertible carseat might solve the problem since he won't be so squished.
