Sharp low abdomen and vag pains

I'm 39 weeks today. The baby has been head down and low for several weeks. But the past few days I've been getting sharp pains on and off with no consistency in duration or time in between them. It seems to be when the baby is moving. It's enough pain to make me tense up and say "ow!!" out loud. Two weeks ago I was zero dilated and zero effaced. One week ago I was zero dilated and 50% effaced. What do you think these pains are? Just baby pushing down more?

    This is probably just the elusive "Lightning crotch". When LO is just bumping up against nerves and such down there. I get it too when he is wigglin around.

    I thought that too but the majority of the pain is low abdomen and totally new. The lightning crotch I've been having for a little longer.

    I've been having this horrible pelvic pain on top of the lightening crotch. It literally feels like someone is cutting me open. I think it's just baby moving and settling. I'm hoping it's gearing up to make it's debut soon!

    I've had this my entire third trimester and it has progressively got worse. However I'm overdue and as of last Wednesday still 70 effaced and no dilation. It's just how the baby is laying. I am in shock that I'm overdue since the pressure has been unreal.

    At my 38 week doctors visit I was also 70% percent effaced with no dialation. I didnt have an appointment during my 39th week so I am not sure if anything has progressed but I am experiencing sharp pain with pressure. I think its just the baby dropping and getting into position. Hoping to get some clarity at my next doctors visit this week.
