My son Brooks started walking about 3 weeks ago and I noticed on his left foot he is walking on the inside of it, his right foot he walks flat footed on.. Should I call his Pedi??
If I noticed something with DD I would absolutely call/go see the pediatrician. It doesn't hurt to do so.
I have a friend who's daughter is going to turn 3 in January. The DC providers noticed she limped a little when she was starting to walk, so she was 11 months give or take. She went to the dr and he said it was normal/due to the fact she was starting to learn to walk. She addressed her limp several times and he disregarded repeatedly.
Fast forward a few months, in which the dc providers also kept mentioning it ..and come to find out her hip was dislocated all along.
This isn't exactly what you are asking about. But if you have a gut feeling go with it especially if your dr disregards your concerns. GL.
She changed Drs. and her daughter had to have surgery and be in a hip cast. Which is so sad. She can only crawl and sit. She obviously can't walk. Wears two diapers tucked in the cast and now can't go to daycare.
DS has the same problem. We've been seeing the chiropractor (FIL is one) for a few weeks now and it is much better. The results aren't immediate, but they are long-lasting and much easier (and cheaper) than surgery like PP mentioned. A good chiropractor should be able to give you an estimate as to how many treatments will be required to treat your LO.
Chiropractors get a bad rap and there are some quacks out there. The best way to find a good one is to go to your local health food store (not a GNC, etc.) and ask for recommendations. GL.
