I heard on, I think, Baby Story one woman who went by GoGo. I thought that was so cute! But my mom and MIL don't like it. I call my mom Maw so she is going to be Grammaw. My MIL hasn't decided yet.

My kids call my mom Mema and dad Papa, my dh's mom doesn't like grandma either so she is Mimi...
Their other great grandparents are Nana and pop pop...

My mom goes by 'nenna' pronounced Nina. Our oldest niece coined it, and the spelling. I love my niece, but I think it's annoying that so many people don't want to be called Grandma anymore.
ETA: And my in laws go by Oma and Opa. So our kids won't have any 'grandma' and 'grandpa' names. I think it's sad. It's also super confusing, because dh and his sibling call their grandparents Oma and Opa, so now I never know who we're talking about.
I'm Dutch and so my nephews call my mom Bepa. Paca is for a grandfather. My grandmother never wanted to be called grandma. All of us called her "Patty B." her first name and initial for last name. My grandfather was "RDub" he wanted to go by his initials but saying them ended up sounding like that. Calling my grandmother by her first name was kinda odd looking back.
My mother is easy, she is fine with grandma or nanny. My oldest was born when she was 42 and she was still fine with grandma.
Some of the kids use her first name sometimes because so many adults around do and she's good with that too. We're a pretty easy going family with names I guess.

I love Oma and Opa! I actually mentioned it to my mom! She will be the only actually grandma... My husbands grandparents are grandma and pop and another lady I'm very close too is alrwady Mimi with her grand kids....
My parents are Grams and Gramps. My husband's parents are Bubba (deceased) and Zayda (Yiddish names) and his father's fiancee is Grandma. My mom's mother is Granny (her father is deceased and was Zayde) and my dad's father is Grandpa (my Grandma is deceased).
My brother's kids' other grandparents are Oma and B--- (his first name; this is my SIL's mom's fiance) and Bebop (her dad) and Gigi (her stepmom).
My BIL's kids other grandparents are Bubbie and Papa.
My deceased grandmother was called granny (southern lol) my living grandmother is called Nina, my brother who Is the oldest of everyone called her that when he was little and it stuck, she is so sweet. My mother wants to let our kid pick(first grandchild) but she likes nanna or Mimi. My mil likes cookie....Me and my dh HATE it lol. She has two other grand children who are 2 and under and that's what she wants to be called.

It's a girl!!! (:
Madison arrived on May 19th at 6:35 am (:
My parents go by Meemaw and Peepaw. FIs dad and stepmom go by Popo and Mimi, and his mom and stepdad go by Granny she hates it but we need a good laugh just to deal with her and Pat FI doesn't really know him so we didn't want DS to call him grandpa.
My mom is Grandma, DH's is Nana. My grandmothers were Nani and Grandma. When my generation started having kids, my grandma was G.G. to her great grandkids, which I thought was cute. I don't think any of the kids understood that it was short for great-grandma.
My MIL is already Grandma to my nephew, so that's what she will be. My mom doesn't want to be Grandma Lastname because that's what my dad's mom was and she was not our favorite person, so she doesn't want the same name. I can't blame her. I have a very italian family, and my mom's parents are Nana and Papa, and my great-grandma is called Big Nana to all the little kids now. I think my mom wants to be Nonnie, and I'm not sure what my dad will be, probably Papa.
DD was the first grandchild for my parents so they both said whatever she chose to call them was what they wanted to be called, they ended up being Grammie and Grampie. On DH's side his parents were set as MumMum and PopPop, because that's been the tradition for generations.
My BFF's son calls his grandma GiGi, I think it started out standing for Great Grandma (G.G.) when BFF was little, and ended up being for grandma too.
My mom didn't want any form of grandma which was just fine with me. She jokingly came up with Bubbles and then we saw it on grandparents.com (I wasn't a huge fan in the begining). She does have a bubblely personality so it fits. My dad is PaPa. Now that DD is talking she calls my mom Bubbies. I always had PaPa L and PaPa S (last names). My mom's mom I call Nam, I was the second grandchild but since my cousin and I are only a year apart all the grandkids call her that too. I call my dad's mom Jammie, since my brother and I are the youngest we are the only ones that call her that.
DH has always called his grandparents Grandma and Grandpa. DD now calls his dad PaPa Dane or D as she says. DH's mom is Grandma Cathy (we rarely see her), Great-Grandpa is now PaPa as well, she won't say anything for Great-Grandma
My grandparents went by Memere (meh-may) and Pepere (peh-pay), it is french. I think my dad will go by Poppy and I am kind of hoping my mom will go by Memere (my Memere has passed away).
I think the ILs will want to go by Grandma first name and Grandpa first name.

My parents are Grammy and Papa, His Parents are Mumsie and Pops. My step son also has greek on his moms side and he has a yaya and papou (but he is only 2 so it sounds more like PooPoo) Lol

My grand parents were Grandma and Grandpa .... last name
My dad's parents are Mamaw and Popo
My parents go by Grammi and Pops, though for the longest time my DS called them Mia and Oh-ho (oh ho because my dad used to make monkey sounds on skype to get his attention...it stuck for almost a year, but my dad hated it and really trained him out of saying it) I kind of wish DS would have kept the ones he came up with.
Dh's parents are Grandma and Grandpa
My brother wanted his kids to call their grandmas 'Ninja (first name', but my brother's crazy like that. :- )
My mom is Maga (this is what we called her mom), my dad is Papa. My MIL is Grammy (also what DH called his his mom's mom) and FIL is also Papa. To confuse things even more my one set of grandparents are still alive and he is also Papa but my DS and neice call him Big Poppa, which is kind of an oxymoron though because he is very small, lol.
My mom is also having this issue. So far she wants GG or MiMi. I told her GG is often for a great grandma. We' pll see what the kid chooses to call her. Dad will be Papa.
MIL with just be Grandmom. FIL is Pop-Pop.
And yes, Pop Pop and Mom Mom are very regional. Never heard them til I moved to NJ.

My mom is Mom-Mom. I think it's somewhat regional because a bunch of people on TB never heard this term.
My MIL is G-Ma. I hate it but that's what she wants.
My LO is only 1 and when she starts talking, I secretly hope she calls her G or GiGi. I can deal with that.
Sadly, my kids don't have grandfathers.

Ahhh my grandma was GoGo! I miss her.
So far we have one Bubbie and one GiGi. We're lucky enough to have two great-grandmas in the picture, so I'm curious as to what we'll call them.
My MIL is already Grandma to my nephew, so that's what she will be. my MIL is having this issue. I'm not sure why Grandma bothers her, but she decided to just see what Baby calls her.
my read shelf:
DH's family uses this, they say it more like Mum-Mum though. I had never heard it until I met them!

Yep, Yiayia is Greek. My mom's side of the family is Greek, so her parents are Yiayia and Papou to me. My mom doesn't want to be called Yiayia though!
