DD turns 1 tomorrow. She had gone for the second round of her flu shot on Saturday and weighed 21 pounds even (with clothes on). Her birth weight was 7 lbs. 12 oz., so she's not even close to tripling her birth weight.
Just curious if your LO tripled his/her weight on their first birthday.
Re: Tripled birth weight at 1 year birthday?
DS definitely passed his tripled weight but he started out at 5 pounds! He was 22 at a year.
This. Your LO is only a couple pounds short of tripling birth weight.
My DD had just about tripled her birth weight at her 9 month well visit, so I'm assuming she will have passed that when we go in for her one year visit next week.

DD1 didn't triple her birth weight until she was 20 months.
DD2 is one pound away from tripling her birth weight. The girl is huge!
my read shelf:
Nope, not a triple-er here. DD was 8lbs at birth and was 21lb at her 1 year. So a few pounds shy.
But DD has had some weight issues.....she was a later doubler too.
But the pedi is happy with her weight (she gained over 5lbs since 8 months) so we're good.
I'm guessing the tripling is more of a guideline/typical weight pattern rather than if they haven't tripled, something is automatically wrong.
Thank you for the reassurance! I get a little too exacting. I guess being 10% below isn't horrible.
At 7 lbs. 12 oz., LO tripling birth weight would be 23 lbs. 4 oz.
OP, DD was 8 lbs. 11.5 oz. at birth and at her 1 year appointment, she was 21.9 lbs. (we'll call it 22 lbs.) so, no, my LO didn't triple her birth weight.

Um, your LO is very close to tripling her birth weight.
We don't have her 12m appt until Dec 4 but I am pretty sure she hasn't. At her nine month appointment she hadn't even quite doubled her birth weight and I doubt she has gained that much since then.
ETA: We ended up taking her in for a possible ear infection and she was weighed and she definitely hasn't tripled her weight. She weighed 8lbs 4oz at birth so tripled would be 25lbs 2oz and she is only 18lbs at one year so she has a ways to go but I have learned not to worry about her weight so much. She is happy and healthy and that is what matters. It is okay for her to be a little peanut.

I don't think LO will be triple when we have his appointment at the end of this month. When he was born he was 8 lb 12 oz and the last time we went to the doc (I believe it was the end of September) he was 22.5 lbs. I am assuming he will be around 24 lbs at his 1 year. So not quite, but almost. As long as they are on a steady growth curve, I wouldn't worry about it
HAven't seen Doc for 1 year appointment yet, but at 9 months, DS had already trippled his birth weight.
He was 7lbs even at birth, and weighed in at 23lbs 8oz at his 9 month appointment. He's been in 18 month clothing and size 5 diapers. I know he has slimmed down as he got taller, but I am slightly scared to see how much more he's grown
