Does anyone care for this name? I feel like it's poised to make a comeback, if it hasn't already.
I would consider it myself if it weren't too cutesy to name a child Francine when we're living in France... (And maybe it has only grown on me because I am thinking of it pronounced with a French accent.)

Re: Francine
This exactly! Francine is okay on its own, but Fran is a horrendous name.
But Frannie/Franny is cute. I'm thinking of Salinger's "Franny and Zooey," although Franny wasn't perhaps the sanest character in English literature.
