So, I showed my true, clueless colors a few weeks back when I broke down and bought a couple of bras 2 cup sizes larger than what I'd been wearing because at that moment, when I tried them on, they fit. Perfectly. With no room to grow.
Roughly a week (yeah, a week) later, the girls started spilling out. It wasn't horribly uncomfortable, and I JUST bought these, so I was like, whatever. I'll deal.
Today I am officially in my 3rd trimester, and OMG, I cannot abide these *** bras. Half the time I can't breathe (the band is probably also too small now), and for some reason, thanks to the constriction, my pregnancy-tender/sore, growing nipples are SCREAMING at me. Right now, especially the right one. It's calling me all kinds of ungodly names. So, so lame.
I'm going to maybe try on a few cheap bras at Target (duh, why didn't I do that the first time?!) early this week, and try to grab some on an online Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale.
Phew, rant over. Any other mamas having excruciating nipple pains these days? Pregnancy is so... beautiful. lol
Re: Constricting bras and my right nipple (mini-vent)
I had a horrid dilemma with bra sizing (large cups, medium band, cheap bras don't come like that) and stressing over spending a ton of money only to have to buy more bras.
My solution is that I'm holding off on buying bras until my breasts stabilize in size and doing the una-boob (sports bra) thing until then. I had to buy an xl sports bra and alter the straps to make it fit my medium frame compared to my giant breasts.
The only aesthetic plus-side is that the sports bra kind of makes my breasts look like a smaller, more normal size especially from the side so I don't have people staring at my chest when I'm doing my grocery shopping like I was Dolly Parton or something! The down side is that, well, una-boob. The main plus-side, comfort without paying an arm or a leg.
I've heard a lot of good things about these Bravado bras. I'll have to check them out. Thanks! :]
My nipples have been extremely sensitive lately, especially in the shower! They sting when the water hits them. And I too had a boob growth spurt (lol) but only bought one larger bra just in case they grew some more and like pp said wearing a sports bra actually helped a lot. When I wear a sports bra the first thing I see is belly instead of boobs now! yay
Another awkward/embarrassing thing lately has been getting sharp pains in my boobs and immediately reaching up and grabbing them. lol Did that while having dinner with my parents recently and got strange looks. It's become almost like a reflex I can't stop.
Ditto this. My cup size has stabilized but I feel like my rib cage gets bigger throughout the day. I got some bra extenders from target and they have saved my life.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
+3. One of my Bravado bras came with an extender and I loved it so much I promptly went out and bought more from Joann's.
I can relate to this so much, it's almost scary. I used to love standing in the shower, facing the stream, but now I have to cover my nips to actually enjoy it.
I, too, do the weird boob-grab thing. Sharp pains in both my breasts and sometimes in my nipples, and I grab them without realizing it. Honestly, I was NOT prepared for nipple growing pains. I had pretty petite aureolas before, but... no more. lol Sad day.
