We will!! Our child will likely be between 2 - 12 months and while that's not a newborn, it's still a baby and still the first child in our home. We will make our own 'baby announcements' that best articulate our situation and yes, I'm already coming up with ideas too
We are adopting a 2-6 year old, and I fully intend to spread the word through adoption announcements once we bring him/her home. What better/easier way to let friends and family know our child has arrived?
We didn't, but when Ben was 6 weeks old, we had a shower at my church and took him and my extended family came and met him. We sent out a Christmas card with his picture on it. He was about 6 months old then.
We thought about it, but we were so busy we never got around to it.

thats so cool that they make adoption announcements, i never knew that! great idea, i totally agree that the arrival of any new child in your home should be proudly announced!!
We did as most people didnt know we had a baby, and if they did, it was still at the foster age. Once BM asked us to adopt, we finalized the name we wanted (we hated the birth name) and sent out announcements saying we were adopting. We used a photo collage of the baby's first month photos and had her birth date, weight, length, etc. and announced that her name would be finalized next year. People loved it, and we did too!
Heck yeah :-) Partly because we'll want to spread the word to our family as quickly as we can and we have a lot of extended family. We aren't really planning on sharing the match(es) that come just in case but we'll see what happens when the time comes.
Absolutely! I have a file on the computer where I save birth/adoption announcements and birthday invites that I like. I may not need them not, but will one day!

I didn't for either one of my babies...maybe that is bc I was pregnant when we got sweet Kate and then i had a 5 month old when sweet Ella was born haha....I guess I was just too busy. But we are doing Christmas cards..does that count? haha!

I made ours by hand...lord only knows what I was thinking, I had a 2 month old and was exhausted...I should have paid someone else to do them! But they were beautiful and everyone loved them, and I'm glad I did it. I think our poor next child is going to get the Snapfish ones LOL
