I have been looking/checking my registry somewhat frequently to see what has been purchased for the last few weeks. I told myself last weekend that I would stop since my family shower is this Sunday. I'm trying so hard not to look anymore so that I can be somewhat surprised, but man is it difficult!
What are your thoughts on looking at the registry right before your shower? Anyone else in the same boat (trying to fight the urge to look)?
Re: Peeking at your registry before the shower
I peek too! Partly out of curiosity, I have to admit. ;-)
But mostly I check in because if all/most of the items in a particular price range get purchased, I want to be able to add more items in that price range that were on the "nice to have, but not top priority" list to the registry so any guests who haven't bought something yet will have options. I don't want someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend to get stuck with only expensive items to choose from.
I check all the time! I don't feel bad, part of it is managing the registry, the other part is curiosity!
our shower is out of town so most people are shipping the gifts too us. We get them in a few days anyway!
I want to avoid duplicates also - I check compulsively, it's pretty bad...

I'm so bad. I check every day and sometimes more than once. I get phone calls from my family to remove stuff off of the list because they don't want to buy it right away but they want it reserved. In some ways it's good but then I'm forgetting what each had asked me to remove and it's forcing me to look at it when I don't want to.
I also just read someone's response saying they added the same item to two different registries. I literally just updated my registry and did this because it seems that one is more popular than the others. I'm surprised. I thought the BRUS would be popular but the BuyBuyBaby seems to be the registry of choice so far.
This!! Guilty as charged!!
