blue tinged milk !?

I left the milk I pumped yesterday in my mini work fridge overnight. This morning it was blue tinged all three bottles from all three pumping sessions. Is it bad?
Edit: I saw someone else asked about blue milk but mine was not blue yesterday when I pumped it, it turned blue overnight. I'm wondering if mini fridge is not cold enough?

Re: blue tinged milk !?

  • It could be more like a hindmilk/foremilk imbalance. Usually, the first milk that is expressed is a bit more watery until you get to the creamier milk. Sometimes it can take on a blueish tint. I would do the smell/taste test just to make sure that it is still good.

  • A lot of times I have milk go very very blue. It is the the fore milk I think, and yes when I pour it into the bottle and it is all homogenized it isn't blue. The blue becomes more apparent as it sits in the cold fridge and further separates

  • My milk is normal looking when fresh pumped, but after a few hours or overnight in the fridge, all the cream has risen to the top, and the bottom half of the bottle is tinged blue.  This seems normal, I just swirl the bottle to mix the cream back in (I usually have to run the bottle under water cuz the cream gets stuck to the sides)
