Fussy baby and formula

My pedi has suggested switching my formula to either nutramigen or alimentum but I hear it is really expensive. I read that Nestles Good Start has a good formula for fussy babies. Is anyone else using the Good Start brand and do you like it? We are using the Enfamil Gentlease right now and he just doesn't seem happy with it.

Re: Fussy baby and formula

  • I LOVE the Good Start formula - my little guy was fussy and gassy and uncomfortable on Enfamil, we made the switch about 8 weeks ago and never looked back. Much easier on his belly.

  • Unless, you know DC has a milk allergy, I wouldn't go right to a hypoallergenic forumla. You could try Similac Sensitive or Enfamil Gentlease.

  • If Gentlease isn't helping enough, try Lactofree. Perhaps a lactose sensitivity and Gentlease is only low lactose.  If that doesn't work then try soy.

  • i've also heard good things about Good Start.
  • I have A LOT of experience with this unfortunately.  My DS was extremely fussy for the first two months of his life.  We tried Nestle Goodstart, Enfamil Gentlease, Soy, everything.  Until finally my pedi suggested Nutramigen and it was like night and day.  He is such a happier baby and no more fussiness!  It is expensive but after dealing with that amount of fussiness I was willing to pay!  lol
