Running/jogging stroller?

Was an avid runner prior to kids. Want to start getting back into it. DD is in school and I can run with DS. What do you suggest as a good running stroller? We live in NYC. Would be mostly on roads, through central park and occasionally on some country roads at my IL's in NJ.

Re: Running/jogging stroller?

  • BOB!  Love mine and its my only stroller.  We take it everywhere.  The ride is smooth, the front wheel you can fix for running or un fix for more maneuverability, its fairly light and fits in my smallish trunk easily.  I have taken it on dirt bike trails and it worked great as well.

  • If you're a real runner, you'd like the BOB revolution. I have the jeep overland which is cheaper and has a fixed wheel - but I don't think I have jogged with it once. Stick out tongue I used it on dirt paths/hills which was great exercise.

  • My friend loves her joovy zoom jogging stroller.. I plan to go over soon to check it out as I've been looking for a jogging stroller too and did not want to go for the BOB without looking at some more strollers...

  • We looked at Baby Jogger, Bob and Mountain Buggy.  In the end the Mountain Buggy Terrain won out.  The BOB would have been my second choice.  The main reasons I loved the MB were the adjustable handle which the BOB does not offer, and the ride. The BOB is a great running stoller, but in my opinion it is given waayy too much credit because it is literally the only high quality jogger that is available at all the major retailers.

We are now looking for a double jogger and I am considering all the same brands in double.  When I looked at the doubles, one feature with the BOB that stands out is the single front wheel.  This is a big plus.

I highly suggest finding a store where you can try out another style as wel as the BOB.

    Good Luck!
