So confused after first u/s...

I just got back from my first u/s. I'm exactly 6weeks today so I figured that I wouldn't see a heartbeat. The doc saw a sac, but nothing in it.... I'm just not sure what to think. I know that we should be seeing something at this point. I just can't handle another mc.
What made it worse is that I wasn't even able to see my doctor because she was busy. Instead I saw this jerk of a doctor who initially tells me that "they don't even care about a miscarriage until you've had two." Then he says "So you want me to tell you how to stay pregnant?...(smirk) I can't do that" (which is NOT what I was asking him at all. I was asking him for blood work to see if I have any fertility issues) Of course I start balling, luckily my husband was there. I beg the guy for an u/s and then we seen nothing...the u/s tech kept telling him to give me betas and he said "No we're just going to see how this goes." I hate military doctors.
At this point I'm just praying for a miracle.

Wow, how rude! I would definitely file a complaint. There's absolutely no call for that at all.
As far as your u/s, I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe your dates are off? FX that everything is okay!
Yes, I can file a compliant and I plan on doing that today. I'm hoping that my dates were just off. Of course last month was the only month that I decided not to use my opk's because I was so emotionally worn down from TTGP so I don't know exactly when I ovulated.
Thanks for the thoughts and just getting pissed off with me ladies, I needed that.

I am so sorry that happened to you! What a jerk Dr! I had an aweful experience with my M/C through the MTF and immediately switched to standard because of it. That was one of the best decisions I ever made! Though it's not for everyone. I did file a complaint about it, but nothing was ever done (as far as I know), and I was never called back besides the initial phone call.
It's impossible not to worry. But I'm hoping your dates are just off. I went in to my OB when I was 6 weeks with DD (my 2nd pregnancy). They saw nothing in the sac either. She told me she was so sorry. She sent me for a formal ultrasound a couple of days later, in which I immediately saw the baby and the beating heart. Best moment of my life! She dated me at 5 weeks 3 days. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I know you didn't test this time, but have you ever ovulated later than the "normal" day 14-16? I have longer cycles, and usually ovulate around day 24-25. Thus going by dates alone always puts me farther ahead than I am. Making them think something is wrong with my pregnancy when in fact it is just fine.
