My family has been discussing Disney lately, so that is where this comes from:
I feel that expensive family vacations are also for the parents. If I am going to enjoy myself, and I know my child will as well, I'm not going to "Wait" for her to remember the trip. If I'm going to spend that kind of money at Disney, why not go when she can fly and get into the parks for free, and be amused by the characters?
I'd hate to wait until she is 6, because who knows if she'll fully believe in the 'magic' of disney.
So, to me, I'd rather take a 2 year old to Disney than a 7 year old. Even if she can't ride all the rides, or have memories, I will have the CUTEST pictures.

That's not so unpopular..I've seen plenty of ppl at the parks with babies, and we're planning our LOs first trip for when she's 10-11 months old.
My UO is I want some freakin snow...like blizzard proportions! (it's unpopular around here b/c nobody but me seems to like snow) We didn't have much of a winter last year and I feel like this winter we should get twice the snow to make up for that!
Damn, can I please get through Thanksgiving before you start shoving Christmas down my throat and putting Christmas music on the radio.
Yes. I'm so irritated that I can't even get myself some turkey before the Christmas push begins. Gawd, we can barely get through Halloween without this nonsense.

I don't know about where you live, but there were stores here in TN that have had Christmas stuff up since early to mid October (Target and Hobby Lobby for example)...it's out of control!
I'm totally okay with none of my skinny bittttch friends visiting me until I'm back to my pre baby size. They don't have kids and expect that once you pop one out it's like a balloon and you completely deflate and wear your prepregnancy clothes home because you pop out all 30 lbs. You gain when your pregnant

I'm in MA and there is a supermarket here that started selling bags of cinnamon scented pine cones in AUG! They claimed it was for autumn season.
I really wish it would snow and I'm super ready for Christmas, haha. The stores putting out holiday stuff early doesn't bother me at all. I've definitely looked through Hobby Lobby and Meijer's holiday stuff already

My hubby thinks the same thing! And my m-i-l whom I love to death, said she's going to buy me a girdle because she wore one when she had both of her kids and it worked to make her stomach flat. She was 19 and 21 both times and I'm freaking 38! It had nothing to do w/the girdle.
I hate the word 'pop' in relation to pregnancy. I am not ready to 'pop', I will not 'pop this kid out'. I am not a balloon, and I will be giving birth to my child. There will be nothing even close to popping when she arrives.

Totally. We even got our holiday lights strung early. Our official excuse is that the company gave us a discount if we let them do it early, but really we just wanted the lights up so they can go on as SOON as it's mildly acceptable.

In the same thread as this, I LOVE Christmas music and am decorating starting next weekend. I'm Canadian though, so Thanksgiving is done already.
My UO is a lot of people are complaining about how playing Christmas music or decorating in early November is disrespectful to war veterans. I fail to see how it is. I buy and wear my poppy, as do my kids. I observe the moment of silence and am thankful for the freedoms they fought for. We discuss with the kids what Remembrance Day is about and why it is important. Whether or not I've already listened to "All I Want For Christmas" has nothing to do with it.

I don't see how it is disrespectful to veterans either. I mean, along that vein, most Christmas song could be considered disrespectful to Jesus, no?
People get worked up over stuff that are non issues really.

I don't personally get how it's disrespectful to veterans For me there are just so many Christmas songs your can listen to over and over, and over again on the radio before I want to rip someone's vocal cords out. LOL
I was a chunky monkey before baby. I really hoped that when I finally started "looking pregnant" that I would feel less self-conscience about my body. Turns out that I REALLY hate people staring at my belly!!! Yes, there's a baby in there! You don't have x-ray vision. Stop looking! I'd rather you try to sneak a peak at my cleavage than my belly!
If absolutely NO other medical reason is involved, baby's not big, no HBP, etc. etc., I just don't understand HOW women can elect to schedule a c-section. My cousin did this, and I think she's a great mom, so it's not that I don't respect the women who do make this choice. It just baffles me how the prevailing thought about scheduled c-sections is that it's as convenient as having a minor out-patient procedure.

I heard the reason they brought out Christmas decorations so early this year is because of the economy being so terrible. They said on the news that people are buying a few months in advance (bit by bit) so that they can afford Christmas. Makes sense I guess, but it is still irritating. That is also why so many stores brought back layaway.

True story: I was going to say the other day if you are skating at some point again, around the first week of July (any year) I would stop by and watch. But then I thought you might think that was creepy. But, FFS, I want to meet you IRL.
And, secondly: I've never done drugs. I've never been in direct contact with any, and I'm pretty much an anti-pot person, but I have been curious about what it's like to be high. So, I'm pretty sure if I had actually been friends with someone who did it and had their own *** (I've had friends that always hung out with others I didn't know and mooched off of them) I probably would have done it. I saw today on Kelly and Michael (Don't judge! At least, I think it was here I saw it..) that in two different areas, some sort of elected official from this most recent election.... are actually dead. They died after the ballots were printed, so their name was still on them.... and somehow.... THEY WON THE ELECTION. I'm pretty sure it isn't something like they died the night before, either. But the majority of the people were too uninformed to know they had passed away before the election. Just because you can blindly pick a name doesn't mean you should.

Yes, your vote matters. HOWEVER, I would rather someone NOT vote with a conviction (doesn't believe in any candidate) than vote without one.
I was at a target 2 weeks ago and they has "summer 2013" swimsuit displays. Wtf.
Such a hypocrite, I know.

I believe in socialism, this is what I want for our country :

I saw today on Kelly and Michael (Don't judge! At least, I think it was here I saw it..) that in two different areas, some sort of elected official from this most recent election.... are actually dead. They died after the ballots were printed, so their name was still on them.... and somehow.... THEY WON THE ELECTION. I'm pretty sure it isn't something like they died the night before, either. But the majority of the people were too uninformed to know they had passed away before the election. Just because you can blindly pick a name doesn't mean you should.
