I've had a cough now for about 3 weeks and going out of my mind! As if the cough isn't bad enough, I must have pulled a muscle or bruised a rib while coughing because now I have the worst stabbing pain in my lower right ribcage when I cough or take a deep breath. I have a call in to my doctor but hands are kind of tied at the moment since I am out of town for work until Friday. Anyone have something like this and if so, have you been able to take anything or do anything for relief?
Re: Bad cough in pregnancy?
I don't have a cough but any time I have a tickle in my throat I dread coughing because it instantly gags me and sometimes I vomit. I so hope that isn't happening to you. I'm sorry you're in pain.
My RE sent me home with a list of approved medications for certain symptoms and all that's listed for cough is Robitussin DM. I hope that helps and you find some relief soon!

This is what I have! I dread the tickle I've been getting, especially if I'm already feeling a tad nauseous.

You probably don't want to get a chest xray while you're pregnant, but you should definitely go see the Dr.
I had bad bronchitis and a sinus infection for the first two months of my pregnancy. So, yeah, I feel you. I've basically been sick this entire pregnancy because I am now fighting something else (I have a son in PT daycare, which explains my constant exposure to crazy germs) and have been coughing nonstop and doing a good amount of gagging.
