Which name do you like better? clicky

DH and I were pretty set on naming this LO Lydia (which is a name I really love) and then last week he said he'd be willing to consider Claire (another name I love that he had originally said no to).

I like the name Lydia better but think Claire goes better with the middle name we're using (Diana). Which name do you like better? And if you're willing, I'd love to hear why below. :-)

I was all ready to vote for Lydia until I saw your mn was Diana.

If you would change the mn to Diane, I would say Lydia. Otherwise, I pick Claire.

The middle name is after my mom, so it's set in stone. I'm really more wondering which first name people prefer, since I don't think middle names are used very often. Thanks for your input! Smile

This for me too! My favorite is Lydia Claire even though it's not an option

I wouldn't choose a FN based on the MN if I liked one of the FN more. I would vote for Lydia anyways.

This was our original thinking and how we came to agree on Lydia. I was happy with the decision, DH just threw me when he said he might be willing to think about Claire (he had been really against it before).

I voted Lydia Claire because I'm not crazy about double -a endings, but honestly Lydia Diana doesn't really bother me with the double -a like a lot of others do. So if you love Lydia more than Claire, go for it. I really love all three names!

I was going to vote Lydia because I like it slightly more, but Claire sounds much better with the MN you've chosen.

I LOVE the name Claire. It would be DD2's name if I could use it (close relative). I also really like the name Lydia though. You can't go wrong with either. Nice choices!

I voted Claire. It's really pretty and goes better with Diana. For whatever reason, Lydia is just NMS. I have never liked it, although I know people tend to like that name on this board. It sounds...snobby or something to me, and not "pretty" or light--just kind of heavy and clunky.
