I've been thinking a lot about traditions I hope my family will embrace in regard to Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Voting is something we will also teach our son the importance of, and I was wondering if there are any sort of voting day traditions out there? I will take him to the polls with me when he's a bit older, of course, but did anyone's families do anything when they were growing up to get you involved? Will you with your family?
Re: Will you have any sort of Election Day tradition?
At first we all went together as a family to vote, then eventually we all went by ourselves. I remember asking for a "I voted" sticker from one of my parents so I could get extra credit. I think bringing your child with you is a good tradition to start with, of course as long as they behave.

OCT 2011 Moms BlogWe always have a party/dinner for our friends to watch the election returns together. DD might be able to stay up for that in a few years.
I plan to take her with me to vote, too.
