Will you have any sort of Election Day tradition?

I've been thinking a lot about traditions I hope my family will embrace in regard to Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Voting is something we will also teach our son the importance of, and I was wondering if there are any sort of voting day traditions out there? I will take him to the polls with me when he's a bit older, of course, but did anyone's families do anything when they were growing up to get you involved? Will you with your family?

At first we all went together as a family to vote, then eventually we all went by ourselves.  I remember asking for a "I voted" sticker from one of my parents so I could get extra credit.  I think bringing your child with you is a good tradition to start with, of course as long as they behave.

We don't have a voting tradition although we do vote, but now that the kids are older, we read the Declaration of independence on the4th of July.  They seem bored a little by it but they sit through it while we wait for fireworks.

I just bring Gator with me when I drop off my ballot. I always drop it off in person, never mail it. I have a fear it will get lost in the mail for some reason. Haha! Right now I don't let Gator have the sticker because she will eat it, but when she is a little bigger I will let her have the sticker.

We always have a party/dinner for our friends to watch the election returns together. DD might be able to stay up for that in a few years.

I plan to take her with me to vote, too.

I remember watching the news to see who is winning in the polls on voting day. Then the day after going over the newspaper with all the poll results then discussing the issues with my parents.
