We did okay... party in the morning for a few hours. Nap for a few hours in the afternoon.
He was pretty good for the trick or treating but got tired by about 7pm. But then he got a second wind and was bouncing off the walls until about 8:30pm... and he doesn't eat candy so I can't blame the sugar!

Rescheduled due to the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
It's awful here. While I have power and never lost it, a good chunk of my town has no power and there are downed trees everywhere. The governor mandated it be postponed until Monday afternoon--and my town issued a 6 pm curfew.
I'm grateful that he is still just 3 and never knew differently because it SNOWED last year and power was also out then.

I am so glad you guys are okay and that A's still going to get the chance to trick or treat.
And yeah, this is probably the last year when we can get away with not trick or treating and not having it be a big deal.

Glad to hear you're all okay. At least he can always go next year.
Ours went pretty well, I think. He had a ball at our family-owned preschool Halloween party -- ran around pretty much nonstop, and that's without any candy! He had the best time there.
We didn't go trick-or-treating because it felt kind of weird ... I think everyone would have known that mom and dad were the ones after the candy, lol! I wanted to take him around the neighborhood in his costume, but at 17 months we thought he was too young. Definitely next year.
He loved seeing the kids come to the door, though! We just moved and there are loads more children in our new neighborhood, which is awesome. :-)

RL, here in Milwaukee we have always done trick or treat on the Sunday afternoon, which is perfect for LOs. Yes, it's not like it was when we grew up, but it is nice having the kids see where they are going. He may remember it only as the first time, but next year will be better. Hang in there!

Seriously I am LUCKY. 70% of my county is without power. A's daycare was open so he still had a Halloween party (today) and parade and got to dress up.
We're in the in-between phase... DD & DS had a great time at DD's former DC Halloween party and DS was look'n around like "I could get used to this place!" (we haven't put him in DC yet).. Then we went to a couple friend's houses on Halloween night. We were going to go out last night but shortly after DH arrived home DD said "My tummy hurts, I think I'm going to lay down"... Well, that turned into a case of the chucks so no going out to Nana's last night (she got home from Rome on the 1st)...
IMO it's all in how you react when it comes to rescheduling and just rolling with it all...
DD and I had a fantastic Halloween. We went to a party at a friends house in the late afternoon and went ToT with a group of 10 adults, 5 toddlers and 2 babies. There was a small Halloween fail on my part though- DD flat out refused to wear her Barney costume so she went door to door in her plain clothes. She loved being out going door to door. Happy Belated Halloween ladies!
We went to a few neighbors just to show off LO. She actually did very well, we managed to stay behind a few older kids which helped her know what to do. We were trick or treating in training....next year will be better.

It turned out to be ok, since our neighbor had a Halloween gathering at her house. It was nice for us to escape our cold, dark, powerless house. That would be the same cold, dark, powerless house we STILL have, TEN days later. What a nightmare. DS has been alive for 2 Halloweens, and both of them have been horrible weather disasters.
Ours was awesome, I have to post some pics (way overdue on that!). Our neighborhood was kind of lame so we went to a cousin's neighborhood (she has a little girl Adrian's age) and it was like frikin Disney World there! People went all out decorating their houses with inflatable figures and lights. It was amazing. Tons of little kids trick or treating... Adrian loved it!! It seriously has been the best Halloween so far. I hope we can repeat it next year if we're still living here.

We got to do Trick-or-Treating and DD loved it. She had really caught on last year and this year was fantastic. My bestie's DH was out of town on business so she came with us. We go in our own neighborhood as we live downtown in our city.

It was wonderful for Monkey, but totally heartbreaking for Mamma.
She is a big girl, dontcha know. She can go up to the house BY HER SELF.
And now I am tearing up all over again. Damn you circle of life.
