I just need to vent......

between family issues (traveling) and DH's hours getting cut, money has been very tight lately.  Everyone who planned the shower yesterday told me if I picked up the catering they would pay me for it.  I brought it up, but only a few offered.  I was out another $100 bucks.  DH told me there is now talks that they are doing layoffs very soon.  I came into work looking forward to payday, and my boss told me I can't have my check because right now they don't have the money to pay everyone so they aren't paying anyone. Hopefully I will get paid tomorrow. 

It's a damn good thing we have a savings account.  Someone please tell me we are the only one's who are financially strapped......not that I would wish it on anyone else

    Unfortunately, you are not the only one I know of having these issues.  Hang in there, hopefully things improve for you soon.

    I just want to say I am so sorry to hear what's going on.  I hope that you get paid tomorrow and things start looking up!

    We're po folk too! All our bills are late, I had to ask for?forbearances from Sallie Mae, and DH's job SUCKS. I'm tempted to join the military. At least when he was in we knew we'd have a roof over our heads!?

    You're not the only one...trust me! ?I was having my own freak outs yesterday and today about money. ?Thank goodness DH has a job and we have supportive families. ?If we didn't have them, I don't know where we would be. ?It's scary - I just wish I had a job to help out - but no one is going to hire a 7 month pregnant lady!!

    We have been struggling. These past 6 months we have been traveling back and forth to PA to work for my parents so we can stay on top of everything. It has been exhausting and stressful and somehow we are just getting by. DH has been in the process of trying to launch a website and I just hope the damn thing is up by the second week of March, b/c after that I am not traveling away from home anymore. I honestly cannot even think about what is going to happen if his buisness is not up and running. I never imagined last year when we decided to TTC that we would be in this financial position right before our baby is due.

    We are in a very tight situation as well...I'm basically the breadwinner right now, DH's job is on/off because he is contracted and the industry sucks right now, and NO ONE is hiring at all around here.  We have maternity leave coming up, and I only get paid for half of it.  I have no idea where we are going to get the money to survive the other half (and I really DO NOT want to go back to work when my baby is only 5-6 weeks old and give her to someone else, and with everything that comes with childcare that early).  We are desperately trying to pay off debt at the same time, which probably won't happen now.  We also found out we owe money on taxes (I was hoping for a decent refund), because DH pays quarterly, but that was only for income taxes...not SS and medicare taxes.  Ugh, I feel your pain!!

    And it's so stupid because I have a great job, and make great money, and we don't even see it....this economy sucks so bad right now.

    dude, we're in the military and we're hurting!  it's not just you!  I hope it gets better soon.

    There with ya!  DH and I both work for the police department.  I could be getting laid off and his opportunity to work extra jobs (how cops actually make money) has been nulled.  HOPEFULLY, he won't get laid off too!!!
