Is it alright to use Vicks vapo steam in the Vicks steam humidifier for my 4 month LO who is sick right now?....

    I have. I don't have it close to LO, but it's in the same room to help relieve her stuffy nose.

    I would check the label.

    I have some of that and if I remember correctly, I think it said not to use on children under 2.

    We have one (in my bedroom) and I was going to pick up another for DD's room, but upon reading the box, I can confirm that the instructions say no to children under 2.

    We just add 2 to 3 drops of natural eucalyptus and spearmint drops in with our cool mist humidifiers when he is stuffy. We get the drops at a store that makes all there products in the store and everything is all natural and safe. I believe you can purchase them online to. The store is called Pure Enchantment'

    when LO had a small cold, i took her to her ped to make sure it wasnt anything more than a cold. I asked her about using vicks, she said she doesnt reccommend using it before 2 years old. She said something about a study being done that said it can actually make their coughing worse... i didnt look it up, but I trust her.
