I think that wipe warmers seem like the perfect way to incubate some pretty gross bacteria.
I love our changing table. When in his room that's where we change him still and where the diapers and everything are stored. We didn't have a dresser that height though.
I also side eye diaper genies. I know that some people swear by them, but we just use a small covered trash, use grocery bags to line it, and change it often. No fancy refill packets or huge long chains of diapers sitting in there for too long.
Also, kids' clothes hangers. I know a lot of people hang all their kids' clothes, but i'm not one of them. All DS's clothes are folded in his dresser.
What's wrong? Don't want a 5 foot poop sausage in your house? lol
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
I wouldn't side eye nipple cream or breast pads. In fact I gave breast pads in a gift basket. But for me breast pads were personal because 5 out of the 6 brands I tried sucked!
Just out of curiosity, what brand did work for you?
Lansinoh all the way!
Gerber were the worst, Walmart brand gave me a rash, J&J leaked, so did Medela, the LLL washable ones soaked through in one feeding.
I'm actually considering Milkies because I leaked so much. But I know moms who never leaked.
Can I just be the tenth person to say the lansinoh disposable pads were awesome!! I bought a huge pack from amazon and still have 3 boxes left over than I just couldn't part with lol. I had zero luck with the washables I tried, and I tried a few. I have a friend who used milk savers and hated them.. I leaked a TON but usually just while nursing.. so when I was home is just hold an empty bottle to the other breast.
Oh and agreed register for whatever you want.. but also you can add as many items last minute as you want and still get the discount in them.. so if you don't want your shower guests to see the nipple related items just add them after your shower!

I would never think to side eye breast pads or nipple cream.
Additionally, I would never side eye it, but I think a wipe warmer is completely unnecessary.
See, this is something I'm considering purchasing for little baby. We use cloth wipes 98% of the time and I wish I had left the wipe warmer on my registry so we could just put warm water and the cloth wipes in it in the morning and it would be ready for the whole day instead of getting warm bowls of water for each change.
I always side eye registries with tons of toys and no practical things like crib sheets or health care items (nail clippers, brush, shampoo/bubble bath). A couple toys is fine but I saw a registry recently that was 75% toys.
With our cloth wipes, we just used a little bit of the california baby diaper spray. No need to warm water.

I absolutely giggled out loud at that, OSC, That is exactly what we called it when I finally remembered to change the darn thing (a poop sausage), and that is why I will never ever have one in my house again!

The smell definitely isn't bad unless you forget to take out the trash. A normal garbage can with a lid is the way to go.

Exactly. It gets stinky about the same time as it gets full because it's such a small trash can.
I would not side eye anything Breastfeeding related - I had a few aunts get me all the little stuff you need to start out, so that is all helpful stuff. But I loved my diaper genie - had one upstairs and downstairs, and I also loved my wipes warmer. But I found that I loved it only for my son, who was born in November, rather than my daughter, in the summer. No need for a wipes warmer for this one, but is we were having winter babies, I would be all over that thing again.

::butting in::
For disposables, I liked Lansinoh pads and for washables, I liked Philips Advent pads (they even came with a little bag to wash them in!)
The laundry bag is one of those things you don't think about...but is very helpful. My husband had to pull apart our washing machine hose a few times to pull out the pads that got stuck. The first time, we had to call a repairman. He also warned us that little socks, wash cloths, etc. can all get stuck. So get a laundry bag!!
My friend who has an 18 month old told me not to bother getting a changing table, she said she never used hers, she just changes the baby wherever is convenient.
See I'm the opposite. We still use ours daily for my non-potty trained 2.5 year old. I like that he's at a convenient height and I don't have to break my back and all mu stuff is stored there.
And I have two dogs that would love to have a baby on their level... I can see myself using it all the time

I love Lily Pads breast pads. They work great and have great reviews. I also love the gel nipple soothers that can be heated or cooled, they look like a big LifeSaver candy. Also recommended!

Me too. I love Tony's changing table. I have a bad back, and while it's true you can change your baby pretty much everywhere, the changing table is perfect for my height and it doesn't strain my back at all when I bend over to change him.
I had a change table with my first in her nursery and used it only when putting her down to sleep at night or getting her up in the morning. I ended up putting my old desk in her room when she switched over to her "big girl room" after the birth of DD2 and just put a changing pad on top. I also had a changing pad that I kept on the main floor that I would plop on top of the kitchen table to change during the day. I ended up having 3 change pads but I liked the convincence of not having to run up stairs to change a diaper. I also had one of those rubbermaid drawer things to hold diapers, wipes, burp cloths, receiving blankets and a change of clothes on the main floor. Some people might have thought I was being lazy but with 2 children 14 months and younger it was so much more convient. I plan to so the same with this one. I also had a bassinet on the main floor for daytime naps.
I had a diaper genie with my 2nd and only used it for poopy diapers. But I didn't use it for long. Then I just bought the doggy pop pick up bags from the dollar store and would put the stinky diapers in one of those and then into the garbage and that really helped with the smelly garbage.

I thought the bumbo seat was a pretty big waste, we never used it.
I didn't use my boppy pillows either (I pumped and didn't nurse, so I really didn't find a need for them).
