Gas drops

Just wondering...what type of gas do you use them for? Burps or farts? : DS has been having some issues pooping lately and I know he gets painfully gassy because he'll cry, fart, cry, fart, etc. We tried using the drops when he was much younger but didn't notice much of a difference. I'm wondering if, now that he's older, they'll do anything.

Re: Gas drops

  • I still put them in every bottle for L. I also do the colic massage if I notice her struggling, it really helps. You can see the video of how to do it on YouTube.

  • It ought to work on any sort of gas. Simethicone doesn't prevent or dissolve gases, but it is supposed to promote gas bubbles forming into larger ones so that they can more easily be expelled in either direction. It is worth noting that they never seemed to help my baby, either, and she turned out to have a pretty bad case of reflux. I still put them into her bottle now that she's switched from nursing to formula just in case they do offer her some relief.
  • I use the Target brand infant gas drops in every bottle! There's definitely a difference if we don't use the drops for whatever reason!
