Wrapping your belly?

mobile: Wrapping your belly?

My friend asked me if I have heard about wrapping your belly up tight to help it go back to "normal". I haven't heard this but she said she heard it can help. What have you heard about this? I would be happy to invest in a shaper if it might help.

Re: Wrapping your belly?

  • It sounds like the belly bandit or one of those...I was going to get one after my CS but there's no way I could have handled it with the pain in the muscles!  It still hurts!

  • I have the Belly Bandit, and I like it. I'm not sure how much it really helps, but it feels good to have everything sort of held in. I don't wear it all the time because after awhile it can get uncomfortable, but I do wear it every day for at least several hours.

  • My doctor "prescribed" a c-section compression belt for me.  It is supposed to help with the c-section recovery but it looks similar to the belly bandit - not sure if it working or not because I only wear it a few hours a day, it's kind of uncomfortable.

I thought this too, but the compression belt actually felt better on my incision.  It kept everything tight and when I coughed or laughed, my incision didn't bother me.  It does get uncomfortable because the compression belt was so wide it covered a lot of area but I do notice a difference when I wear it.

  • I bought a belly bandit BFF. It's alright. It does help make you feel supported. I'm 3 1/2 weeks pp and mine already is too big. They recommend getting two. One for while the other is in the wash, but I think that's excessive. I would say you would need two in different sizes. One for your current size then one for when your smaller.
I can say that I got mine 4 days pp and had to wait a day for it to fit. And now it's way too big. I don't know if that is due to the band, my body reacting to EBF, a combination of the two, or just nature.
Also, I wear mine very sporadically. Like every other day during the day but not 24/7.
    Hope this helps!
  • I wore the belly band I had from the beginning of my pregnancy and I think it helped some. I only wore it for like the first week though.

Belly Bandit is a different product, for pp use.
