I hate shopping for jeans, and I typically don't spend too much on them. I usually just go to Target or Kohls. I remember some of you talking about where you buy jeans, can I get some recommendations? I would love to find a pair that A. Looks good, B. Fits both length-wise, around the waist, and in the thighs (which seems impossible for my body type!), and C. Are comfortable.
I am willing to spend more than I usually do, but not too crazy. TIA!
Re: Jeans (NBR)
I am also a serious cheapskate. I have a strict secondhand rule on 99% of our clothes and I thrift store shop like it is my job. It is a bit time consuming, but I do get to wear a lot of brand name stuff.
My two current favorite pair of jeans are Dana Buchman and J. Jill. I know Dana Buchman can be found at Kohls. Those ones are a bit retro, with a wide straight leg and the length is perfect for my size. The J. Jill ones have a pretty high waist and hold in my belly pouch beautifully without being mom jeans.
Sorry, I should have mentioned I am 5'4'', so my problem is finding jeans that don't squeeze the crap put of my belly, but I'm not stepping all over. I am willing tp spend around $50- $75.
I have big feet, and I don't like showcasing them, so I don't like skinny jeans (and I don't think I have long enough legs for them anyways). I prefer flared jeans.
Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!
You and I are the same height and I also have big feet. I found a good pair of flares at Old Navy and online at Victoria's Secret.
These were my favorite too but they stopped making them here. I always waited till they were on sale because I couldn't justify spending more than 50 bucks on a pair of jeans. Marshall's, TJ Maxx, or condignment shops are a good bet because you can try on a lot of different brands till you find one that fits. And when I'm in Canada, Value Village!

I read that recently as well. I've never been a huge Gap fan but that cemented it.
I do love me some Gap kids though.
And when they showed how much the ON jeans stretched out?? Sooo true. They may be cheap, but money is still money, and I'd rather spend a little more and not have a pair of POS jeans. I bought an awesome pair of Rock and Republics, NWT, off of eBay, for less than 50 bucks. There are good deals out there on quality denim if you think out of the box stores.

I may try on some J Brand jeans because I think they make high rise skinny jeans too.
Eta sorry I didn't read your post about not wanting skinny jeans. For boot cut try Hudson. Im with Chunstad, try on a lot of jeans and you will find one that fits your body type.

OCT 2011 Moms BlogI'm with Pear I love to go thrifting I get more compliments on clothes I find there than my brand new stuff.( and you already know how it will wash up)
I did buy a couple pairs of jeans this fall. I know you don't like skinny but I bought Levis woman's skinny jeans (kohls) they are my new best friend. They make my butt look great and suck everything else in. They also sit on my waist they don't go up by my belly button and they don't show my crack. Best of all they are less than $50.00.
