Re: Prenatal Vitamins

  • I take 2 flintstones and an 800mg folic acid. I am not able to take even normal vitamins (that I have to swallow) so I didn't even try prenatals. I took the flintstones/folic acid before I conceived with my first. I slacked off this time and started as soon as I got a BFP. :)

  • Try one without dha. It made me so sick.

  • I take the one a days also, but I take them right before bed. All prenatals make me sick so bedtime is the best time lol

  • I take the gummies.  Vitafusion. Very tasty. Easy to stomach and they have everything but the iron.

  • I recommend the Gummies as well. I took them before my BFP. Once I got that I switched b/c I wanted the iron as well as a different source of Vitamin A. Apparently beta-carotene is best and better absorbed and safer than retinol forms of vit A. I switched to nature's made and take them at night.

I also would recommend trying to find a DHA that is plant based - supposed to be better absorbed/more bioavailable but I could not find any other than really expensive ones at whole foods. GL!

  • I take the chewy vitamins, they have DHA and folic, also they have omega 3s which was what sold me. They don't taste that great (they aren't all that bad either), but they have yet to make me sick.

  • I take Vitafusion prenatal gummy vitamins. They taste great, don't make me sick, and have the recommended amounts of all the important stuff (folic acid, DHA, etc.).

  • I have prescription prenatals (Obnatal One Folcaps). I started on them before getting pregnant and they've never given me any issues. I take them right after waking up.

  • I use pregvit  it's prescription. You take one in the am and one in the pm. They are separated to help not get morning sickness and so your body can properly absorb the vitamins.
  • I was the same way! Then, when I finally got pregnant I couldn't keep anything down when I had morning sickness. I take Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix because it's not a pill. It's completely flavorless and you can mix it with almost any beverage. I mix it with gatorade or OJ and I keep it down everytime. It has DHA, folic acid, B Vitamins, etc. I highly recommend it! You can buy it online for like $25 a month.
