Pregnancy Book recs

Anyone have any good recommendations for books about pregnancy?  I have 'What to Expect' but would like to check out some others.  TIA!

  • I'm reading Week by Week and I like it so far.

  • I'm a librarian, so I went a little bit overboard checking out different books.

For medical information: "Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn: The Complete Guide (4th Edition)"

For all of the other stuff: "The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" by Vicki Iovine

And two memoirs I found very interesting and illuminating:
    "Making Babies" by Anne Enright
"A Life's Work: On Becoming a Mother" by Rachel Cusk

  • I am currently reading Girlfriends Guide to Being Pregnant and so far its okay.

DH on the other hand got Dads Pregnant Too! by Harlan Cohen and he is really liking it. He likes to tell me it should be called 'the idiots guide to having a pregnant wife'

It breaks things down for him and helps him understand whats going on and what to expect without being too graphic and it is filled with humor.  He is currently reading 'The never-well rested women:making narcoleptics look well rested' portion. He would recommend it to any to-be dad.

  • I enjoyed Pregnancy: Day by Day when I was pregnant with DD. I have it packed away but plan on getting it back out this time around. I looked at the page for each day when I took my vitamins in the morning. https://www.amazon.com/Pregnancy-Day-By-DK-Publishing/dp/0756650410/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1351461048&sr=8-5&keywords=pregnancy+week+by+week

  • I read Week by Week last time and liked it. There was a fair amount if skimming involved, though. I got it out again this time.

I am thinking I may do the more humerous route this time. I want to read Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy.

  • I love The Pregnancy Bible.  It has amazing graphics and is very thorough.  I find myself going back to it, even though this is LO #2.

I love"The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy!" A friend of mine gave it to me when I was pregnant with DS and I loved re-reading it when I was pregnant with DD.
