Hi, I haven't posted much here since I had the baby but do have a question. My little one just turned 7 months and is crawling everywhere and pulling up. Do you use a big gate to surround them or are you using the pack n play? I just let her roam and pick her up and move her

Just wondering what ya'll are doing?!
Re: Crawling and pulling up.
It has foam matting under it (we finished the flooring out after this picture) and is big enough for us to get in and play with him ( 8x 6 ft ). We started him off in it early, so that when he is crawling around or walking he wont feel like he is being punished if we put him in there while we do things around the apt. He loves it and later on when he doesn't need it it can be used to enclose the fireplace, cover our windows as they are low level, or to train a pupy in when we move to a house (comes with wall anchors). So for us, well worth the investment.. it's also easy to break down and take a section to the IL's if we need to.
We only put up a gate at the staircase, but otherwise we're doing the pick up and move away from stuff here.
Just as an FYI-- babies bleed a lot when they cut their mouths, which sometimes happens when they pull up on the coffee table and then fall back and their face doesn't clear the edge.
I just let him roam. If we had a bigger living room area I might have a enclosed gate or something but we are in a rental so it's not big enough. I have a gate to our kitchen and our stairs so he has to stay in the living room. If he gets into anything he isn't suppose to I say no and take it away or move him. He really likes to get to any cords. So we are having to remember to start checking that we have our computer chargers out of reach.

My cat is stupid. If she tries to jump the gate to go downstairs, she will fall down the stairs. lol. The gate will be literally at the top of the steps. That is the only place that has a wall and railing to put it. Split level ranch with the steps right into the living room. The gate we have is very old. If she tries to jump on top of it, it will fall. Good enough to keep the baby upstairs but not for the cat to be on top of. So really hoping my FIL gets our special gate built soon or else I will have a very frustrated kitty.
Not to mention having to take it down and put it back up all the time will be a huge pain.

We often joke that our cat is the stereotypical "dumb blonde" of the cat world. She is so sweet and so great with the baby (she seriously sat there while the baby smacked her with a spoon the other day). But she just isn't the brightest crayon in the box.
