  Yup, DD can stay up for 4 or 5 hours before getting overtired. However, I try to encourage a nap after about 2 hours. I pretty much have to nurse her to sleep so it's fairly easy to get her to nap during the day, I'm a SAHM. She only falls asleep by nursing, being in the car or being carried or worn.

  Up to 4 hours, but generally she'll take 20 minute catnaps every three hours while awake, with a long nap duration in the afternoon, sometime morning. Those naps are 2 to 5 hours, with a quick feeding in the middle sometimes.

  Wow, 4-5 hours is excessive! 1-1.5 hours is max for 3 month olds - that's not just what people "believe" but what is recommended. DS is 4 months and is put down to nap after 1.5 hours or 2 hrs at the most. Babies need this sleep as this is when growth occurs. I've followed the guidelines since he was a baby and he's a fantastic sleeper (naps and nighttime).

  ,,,well, every baby is different, as are what they're exposed to so who really knows but based on my attempts,, my lo does need naps just about every 2 hours max. The reason this is so hard for me is because she fights sleep like she's mike Tyson I have a 2 year old... I'd love to be able to nap her at 10 and 2 already but soon enough I guess...   She's up between 23 hours. Towards the end of the day she likes to take a couple catnaps before bedtime.nbsp; Her naps are pretty short throughout the day though.nbsp; She will usually have one 11.5 hour nap.nbsp; The rest are 45 minutes or less.

  This is our nap cycle but its usually after just an hour to hour and a half... And I hold her for her naps,,, not preferred,,, by me! Ha!!

  Nope, DD can still only do 90 minutes tops before she becomes super cranky and fussy.

  i agree with the 1.5 hours - 2 hours MAX before putting her down for a nap. and she will take 2 hour naps each time! she's a very happy/smart baby so i keep with it. she also sleeps 7 hours at night, so the long/frequent naps during the day don't make a difference.
