When are you starting nursery?

We are losing our guest room to the new baby and I'm dying to start. When DD was born, we lived in apts. DS was born after we moved into our house so it was chaos still. I want to give this baby a real and complete nursery so badly. Realistically I have to wait until after Christmas, especially to dig out our gear. I suppose Pinterest will have to get me through my tough times, ha!

Sometime this winter, after we have the anatomy scan. In all honesty, though, it is kinda started. I worked pretty hard on getting the guest bedroom cleaned out this summer. We also got new bedroom furniture over the summer, so our old stuff was moved to the guest bedroom/future nursery. We will take the queen size bed out and move the twin in as a day bed, then we need to add in a crib. Paint is a fun green, so that isn't changing. From, there we will need to decorate. I think I know what I want to do, but I have lots of back up ideas.

I think it depends on the sex of this baby, but if its a boy, we won't be doing anything except adding his clothes into DS's closet. Our babies sleep in our room/bed so where we store their clothes and toys and diapers is the only reason they have a room. If baby 2 is a girl, my husband will put a closet organizer in our 3rd bedroom I think.

DH finally decided to quit the job that he's bored at and found a new job which he starts next week, but he'll be working from home now. So, what has been the guest room/workout space and was going to be the nursery will now be shared with his office. We need to convert the room to his office this week, so we'll probably also start clearing the space for the nursery stuff at the same time but we won't do any decorating or adding new furniture until Spring or whenever my in-laws move into town (they're bringing us DH's old changing table and maybe his crib...if it's still safe). I had 2 theme ideas picked out when we were TTC though, and DH likes them so it'll either be Baby animals or Space themed. I'm leaning more toward baby animals right now.

We will probably wait til February/March to start on it because DH can take his Vacation and start redoing the room. Our living room is huge and we took some of it and made a walk in closest, so now we are making it bigger, so it more like a real room size. DH doesn't want our kids to share a room right now so he is making me wait longer to decorate the room.

Right now B is still in a crib. But the Spare room will be hers and we are buying her new toddler furniture and going to do her room. The small nursery will then be baby's. Depending on the sex, we might paint. I'm going to transition her after new years I think. Then after our anatomy scan, we will start fixing up the nursery.

we'll probably wait awhile. the room that will be the nursery is kind of our catch all crap room, so we need to do some clean up and reorganizing. that should have honestly been done awhile ago... maybe I can convince H that we should start soon

I think we should wait awhile anyway. I'm too nervous to do anything early

We'll wait until DS moves upstairs to his new "big boy" room. We plan to do this for his 2nd birthday in January. Then I'll be able to deep clean the room and maybe repaint if I can talk DH into it. DH will be on night shift then, so I may be able to get him to do it on one of his nights of when we are all sleeping. Everything else will stay the same as we used gender neutral bedding and decor.

We are going to start moving stuff around, we live in a two bedroom townhouse so we will be losing our spare room. We want to reorganize the basement and move the spare room stuff down there. Then we will move the hunting stuff where we can put it. Like the mounts will go in the stairwell and the gun safe will go in our room. We are also rearranging our bedroom in order to make room for the gun safe so this will be a long process and DH has to get help as I cannot lift.

After the anatomy scan. I know that DH is anxious to start right now. I don't mind cleaning, and getting rid of furniture. But I don't want to buy anything/ decorate until we've had the scan.

We moved into our new place two years ago, knowing the spare room would eventually be a nursery. It's become a collection pit for all of our friends hand-me-down baby stuff. Before we actually start the nursery I get to go through and figure out what all we have. And find a place for the rest of the stuff that was "temporarily" stored in there. The actual nursery work part likely won't start until after Christmas.

It's going to be a while. We're in an apartment now and are starting our house hunt in the next few weeks. I've been looking at furniture and patterns, but i doubt we'll decide on anything until we have the anatomy scan.

Our office will be converted to the nursery. We will start when we find out what we're having. Our office is already a steel blue and I love it. If we end up having a boy, I will keep it this color, but maybe add a brown stripe across the top 1/3 of the wall. We have hardwood floors too, so I will find an accent rug. If this is a girl, not sure what color. I will have my kids help, for sure! I can't wait to tell them!

Not for a long time. I started cleaning out our spare room early on last time then had a missed m/c at 12 weeks. It was devastating to go and look at this mostly empty room. I guess I have a sort of head start now though.

We did get new carpet a couple weeks ago, so the room that will be the nursery only has a couple things stored in it now.

We've started talking about it. We live in a 2-bedroom condo - so like the PP with the townhouse said, we're having to sacrifice our other room for a nursery. Right now, it's an office/entertainment room, so we're trying to figure out how to best rearrange our condo to fit with the maybe baby. Definitely something that requires forethought - but I don't think we'll actually move anything around until well into the New Year.

Probably near the start of third tri. Not doing much though since we're moving soon after and baby won't really see much of the room. The first few months the only thing ds found interesting in his nursery was the window blinds staring at them.

We are turning our office into the nursery, so my husband has already cleared the computer out and has relocated it. We still have a lot to do, but MY HUSBAND was the one that said he wants the nursery done by Jan/Feb. He is very excited!!

I am a planner so you can never start too early I figure!

Well, I'm a special snowflake with this one. We're trying to sell our house so it depends how long it takes for it to sell. It would have been this spring, regardless, but I'm honestly wondering if this baby's nursery will be his bassinet until we can get in a bigger house.

We are going to wait until after the anatomy scan at 24 weeks, so I guess that means early March. When we moved into our house we knew exactly which room we wanted to be a nursery and have left it pretty empty on purpose.

We're moving in Dec/Jan, so I have to wait and see what kind of house we'll find.

Even after we find a house, I probably won't start for awhile. I don't want to buy another crib, so we'll have to work on transitioning DS to a toddler bed or twin bed first. I plan on using the RnP again, so having a crib right away is not a priority.

We're moving back into our townhouse on June 1st...and I'm due June 5th! So worried I'll go into labor before then! There are renters in the townhouse now, so for now we're renting a little house (we just moved back from NC). But I know it's going to drive me crazy as we get closer to the due date not to be able to set up baby's room, or even be living in the house we'll be in! Ugh...anyone else having unfortunate move timing?
