Facebook name

A friend's sister named her daughter Dieu.wke (one word, punctuation inserted for google prevention).

Apparently it means "itself".

Re: Facebook name

  • It is a real name. It is not something I would choose, personally, but not everyone has to use a so called "American" name. It is ranked 93 in Belgium.

    GENDER: Feminine
    USAGE: Frisian
    PRONOUNCED: /DOO kah/
    Meaning History
    Feminine form of DIEUWE

That is definitely not how I thought it would be pronounced.

I agree. I try to be open minded, but I hate the way that name sounds.

  • I'm kind of puzzled about the 'dook' portion, are you all saying it like 'duke'?

I usually like ethnic names or more wordly names but naming a child who is presumably going to be raised in America something that sounds so close to dookie is just mean :(
