Our friends invited us to go trick or treating in their neighborhood this year(they came to ours last year). Which is fine, however, we already bought a load of candy. I kind of want to just put it out in a bowl with a sign saying to please take a few. Some of our neighbors did this last year and everyone was very good about it. DH is afraid someone is going to take the whole bowl, but I don't want to be stuck that much candy! Also, we live in a somewhat secluded neighborhood and everyone is very friendly with each other. I mean block parties, barbecues, the teenagers babysit around the neighbors, etc. Most of the kids fall in between 1-8 and last year, everyone came well supervised for trick or treating. I don't really imagine them being rude and taking an entire bowl of candy.
Re: Hmmmm - what to do for Halloween?
I figure you'll never know.
If you don't want it hanging round the house, then put it out. Someone will enjoy it. That might be one person, or a whole heap of people, but someone will enjoy it and you really don't need to concern yourself.

Hubby's out of town, so while I' m out with my kids, and after they go to sleep I am actually going to line our monsterous jack o lantern with cellophane and put the candy in it and make a sign.
Well that's the plan. We'll likely be rained out and I'll be stuck with all the candy. Ah well.
I plan to stick it in a ice cream bucket on my porch while I TorT with my older girls.
