Experienced (or creative) party-throwers here, please...

I decided to do a "Royal Tea Party" for my DD's 3rd bday party in January... Already have the location set, got my wheels turning thinking of decor, but I'm having some trouble going from there...

This will be her first real birthday party, and I know most young attention spans are about the size of a pea, so I need ideas.

I was thinking when the kids arrive I could give them a goody bag with a few pearls, a ring, tiara, was gonna do a boa but i heard feathers get everywhere with those... What would be good for boys?

When they arrive I'm not sure what kind of games and crafts to set out... I want to have them do crafts, etc. before they eat. Suggestions?

They'll have "tea" (most-likely lemonade and juice), cupcakes, little sandwiches, etc., should i provide entertainment while they eat or after (i.e. magician)? 

After that they are free to leave the party room and play in the children's museum that the party will be at...

I need help with the flow of the party! Spank you in advance.

    I would wait to do the goody bags until the kids leave.  Like a parting gift.

    I'm not sure how you would boy-up a tea party, honestly. 

    You could do "pin the diamond on the tiara" like pin the tail on the donkey for a game.

    I would have them make their crowns and wands.  I think the craft stores have kits you can buy.  I wouldn't even do treat bags unless you want to put the kits in the bag.

    I wouldn't worry too much about entertainment.  The museum sounds like more than enough.

    Along the same lines, I was thinking pin the tail on the dragon (or the fire coming out of the mouth).

    For the boys, maybe you could do a cute little clip on bow tie if you wanted them all to wear the items they got in the goody bag during the party.

    What about crowns for the boys - cardboard ones like the ones you used to get a burger king - and bow ties. 

    and definitely hand out the goodie bags at the end.

    Maybe you can find plastic top hats and let the boys decorate them? 

     Or maybe have the kids decorate their own cupcakes with sprinkles?
